Itinerary
The romantic city of Venice, is located in the Veneto region of Italy — one of the gem in the North East corner of Italy. This ancient and historically important city was originally built on 100 small islands in the Adriatic Sea. Instead or roads, Venice relies on a series of waterways and canals. With us, you will discover the wonders of Venice as our walking tour takes you through the labyrinth of canals, bridges and alleys in this unique and magical city. Your tour also includes a gondola ride: gondolas are one of the most iconic and traditional Venetian experiences! Centuries ago, gondolas were the main means of transport in Venice. Now they have become a very popular tourist attraction, and perhaps the most recognisable symbol of Venice.
Burano was and is a fishing village whose residents have always relied on the lagoon for sustenance. Burano rose to prominence in the 1500s, when its lacemaking traditions were born. For centuries, women made the intricate handmade lace, which was in high demand across Europe. Today, while Burano is famous for its lace, there are only a handful of traditional lacemakers remaining on the island.Burano's brightly colored houses line its boat-filled canals. The tradition of painting houses in this manner is said to relate to the island's heritage as a fishing village—the bright colors made it easier for returning fishermen to find their homes in the thick fog of the lagoon. It is also said that the Burano residents favor the bright paint as a well of marking where one property ends and another begins.
Murano is one of the best-known islands in the lagoon of Venice. It is famed for its glass factories and laboratories where many generations of craftsmen have been working for centuries.
The Rialto bridge was considered the eighth wonder of the world in the year 1594, just a few years after it was erected, between 1588 and 1591. It really cost a lot of money: more than 250,000 ducats. It was for many centuries the only bridge built across the Grand Canal or Canalazzo, as we call it here.It is nowadays one of the most iconic buildings in Venice, although now the shops located on it do not sell exclusively gold and jewels.
With over 400 bridges crossing the canals of Venice, you'd have to be a local to visit them all. But if you're looking for the best ones to see on this next trip, then the Bridge of Sighs surely makes the list. Called the Ponte dei Sospiri by locals, this iconic landmark was built in the year 1600 and connects the Doge's Palace to the historic prison across the canal. Even though it has a dark history used to transport prisoners, today it's easily considered one of the most romantic places in Venice, which is no small feat in a city as idyllic as La Serenissima. It's tradition to kiss your loved one on a gondola ride while passing under the Bridge of Sighs; just don't expect it to be an intimate moment since most tourists have the same idea.

My husband and I had a wonderful day with our tour guide and driver. It was our first time hiring a private tour and enjoyed our ability to control what we saw and how long we stayed. On a regular tour my husband kindly sits in the tour bus aisle seat allowing me to enjoy looking at scenery from a window. Touring in a private car allowed both of us to enjoy Tuscany. We also enjoyed both winery wines and were able to actually taste the wines and the charcuterie plates provided by the wineries.
Hello! Thank you for your sweet message, it was a pleasure being part of such a lovely experience with you.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience the high points of Venice with an experienced tour guide! Rossana took care of everything: train ticketed, local guide (Nicola) for tour of St. Mark’s and Venice, boat ride to Burano and Murano, and gondola ride. I learned so much about Venice and its islands! I would highly recommend for all, especially for those who have one day and want to ensure they visit the top sights in Venice. Very impressed with my tour! Pictures: view from private boat and tour of St Mark’s.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us! It was a pleasure serving you and we hope to see you again soon! Arrivederci!
A great way to see a lot of Venice in a day. The private tour boat was fantastic. Driver Roberto was so much fun, and we especially enjoyed that his boat had a rising platform that got John and me in an off boat with ease. The visit to Murano glass factory was very special, especially since my parents had given my sister and me wine glasses that were blown there. Watching the glass be blown was something that we had never seen. It’s no wonder the pieces are beautiful, each one unique . The visit to Burano fishing village also fun. Very colorful. And we had great pizza for lunch. The gondola ride was something I’ve dreamt about since I was little girl. Rossana arranged for my dream to come true. The train ride from Rome to and back was long, but very comfortable. And once again Rossana was very attentive and loving. A class act!
We would not be able to grow and develop without feedback like yours! We are thrilled you had a great experience with us and hope to see you again soon.
