Our tour guide, Hector, made us wait in the hot sun at the bottim of the steps for 30 minutes. I asked if I could stand in the shade one foot away and he said no because we would be blocking another tour group. We then had to climb back'up steep steps that we had been ordered to descend in the heat to wait twenty more minutes to enter. When questioned about the need for standing in the hot sun we were told that they could not control the weather, when, indeed, they could have let us stand in the shade. When we entered the museum there was another streep set of steps to climb and we were already feeling unwell because of the head. My friend and I also have had knee replacements, thus we like to use an elevator when available. I asked if we could use tbe elevator and he told me we were on tbe wrong tour, we should have been in the handicapped tour. We took the elevator planning to meet at the top. He did not wait for us and abandoned us. We could not locate the group. We felt faint and the security guard gave us a seat and insisted we sit fir a few minutes because we looked ill. He was lovely and helped us make our way to tbe Sistene Chapel. No signs of Hector again and he did not try to contact me and tell me where the group was. His rude and uncaring behavior towards us is totally unacceptable. We have cancelled out Collisem tour for tomorrow for fear of being treated in an unsafe and uncaring manner. We expect a full refund after having spent 500 dollars to be treated horrendously, and refund for the cancelled trip for tomorrow, Our tour guide, Hector, made us wait in the hot sun at the bottim of the steps for 30 minutes. Christian was an amazing guide. He's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about teaching which made the experience enjoyable and memorable. Wish we could give him more stars!
Booked a visit with my family and the tour was very will run with plenty of notices and instructions ahead of time. The tour operator was very good and did a good job of keeping the group moving and informed. She also did an excellent job of helping us make our Vatican Cupula visit at the end of the tour. The only feedback that I would improve on is to give an option for a headset for children under 6, but I can understand that since they are free, one is not provided. I would have paid an optional fee just for the extra headset.
Our guide, Cosimo, was great. Very knowledgeable and witty. I highly recommend this tour. Taking in the history, art and story of it all was fascinating.
Our guide was excellent. Very informative. Giving us time to take in the beautiful surroundings. It was a wonderful experience.
Booking through Viator Skip The Line Ticket was a breeze! Thanks to John, a Viator representative, who gave us incredibly accurate information and helpful tips, our family had an unforgettable experience. The Vatican Museums boast a stunning and comprehensive collection, the Sistine Chapel literally gave us goosebumps, and St. Peter's Basilica was absolutely beautiful and magnificent. Highly recommended
Tons of history from a great guide. You learn so much about these historic areas that you would never have known otherwise. I'm not a huge fan of paintings so some of those parts were kind of dull but do love the architecture and sculptures you get to see.
Very knowledgeable tour guide, was able to get us to skip one line area to get into the Sistene chapel which was nice. We didn’t spend too long in the museums but that was okay with us, we wanted more time in the chapel and basilica anyway plus we had a scavi tour right after and didn’t want to be late. We spent 10 minutes or so after the museum sitting outside discussing the Sistene Chapel artwork and some history before going into the chapel because you can’t speak inside or give tours, but I would’ve much rather had been given the pamphlet explaining everything, had a few things pointed out quickly, then spent 5-10 extra minutes inside but some people may have enjoyed the break from walking. Overall I would highly recommend to skip the lines and get to see everything you want, but if you want to spend a lot of times in the museum this wouldn’t be for you.
Fabulous experience ❤️🇮🇹 Paula was patient, kind and thorough in her tour of the Vatican. Her guidance was much appreciated through the tour.
We had an excellent tour with Alessandra! She had a lot of knowledge and was very funny. She also looked for spots for us to be in the shade and away from others as much as we could. Just as a general note, the Vatican museums are extremely oversold and packed. Even if you take the first tour of the day, expect to be packed in everywhere.
