- Tours will run rain or shine (unless closed for safety reasons)
- There are mandatory security checks al all entry points to the sites. The wait time time for the security check can be considerable during peak times/seasons and has nothing to do with the ticket line
- The names provided at the time of the booking cannot be changed.
- The itinerary may vary, the tour may start at either the Colosseum or the Roman Forum.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave a lot of interesting insight. We really enjoyed the experience other than the fact we didn’t get to go on the floor because of the coliseum not because of the guide. One thing I don’t recommend is coming in July! It is tooo freakin HOT!
We booked for gladiator door and arena - tickets got scanned and. Gave us there tickets which did not get us to either arena floor or gladiator door - very disappointed. Also told to be there 15 min early for tour to start at 9am didn’t start u til 9.40
The experience overall was nice. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and we were able to see some amazing buildings & architecture. The first drawback was the heat, which was not the fault of the tour guide, but it made the tour very difficult. A couple of the guests had to drop out because of it. The second drawback was the heavy accent of the tour guide which made it very difficult to understand everything he was saying. The third drawback was the fact that we were told about a week before that due to “government regulations” no tour guides were allowed in the coliseum, so we had to go in ourselves. When we entered the coliseum, there were tour guides everywhere so I’m not sure what Viator was talking about but they did say they would discount our tour by 20% which I’m still waiting to see on my CC. Overall it was a nice experience.
Fantastic tour especially of the Forum! The amount of history is astounding and our guide was superbly knowledgeable. 10/10 recommend. Only unfortunate thing was that our guide was not able to enter with us to the coluseum. We were still able to enter and explore it at our own pace though.
Didn’t get to do anything at all because the tour guide never showed up. Came all the way to Italy from the states to see the colosseum for my fiancés birthday, never thought spending $400 would ever result in it not seeing a single sight you paid for. If everything worked out I’m sure it would’ve been fabulous. Leaving Italy and not even getting to see what I paid all this money for is absolutely heart wrenching.
“Show Me Italy” provided the tour. They offered the worst tour we experienced in Italy. Do not book with them.
Our guide was good, meeting spot was clear. The issue was that the guide could not go into the coliseum with the group (I’m not sure why, there were definitely other tour guides in there). After seeing the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill with our guide we had to return the headsets and go into the coliseum without her. Not a huge deal but also not a guided tour of the coliseum.
It was extremely hot and you need to have some kind of cover on your head, either a hat or an umbrella
Ray_M, Jul 2026 Our guide (from Pitsburg) was a great Guide, plenty of facts about the Forum, roman history and Colosseum.. would recommend this tour. The tour only covered the Forum and the outside of the Colosseum the Guide was not allowed to do the tour inside the Colosseum. I only found out about this a week before travelling. ( A partial refund was given in return for this).
Our tour guide Rich was spectacular in sharing so much history in such little time. This was one of the better tours I’ve experienced and the sights are out of this world!
