Burano, a colorful island in the Venetian lagoon, is famous for its vibrantly painted houses and its long tradition of lacemaking. It is said that the houses were painted in bright colors so that fishermen could find their way home through the fog. Timing includes boat transfer.

Back on the main island, you will start the discovery of Venice with St. Mark's Square, surrounded by iconic monuments that reflect the city's rich history. The majestic St. Mark's Basilica dominates one end with its domes and golden mosaics. • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • IMPORTANT: To optimize your time in Venice, we suggest to have a snack during the trip. If you do not have time to organize for it before the departure, the trains always have at least one restaurant/bar wagon and or vending machines. Every wagon has its toilet, we also suggest to use, instead of queuing at the rail station.
  • NOTE: Because of small docks and lots of traffic, private boats cannot wait for more than 3-5 minutes for your embarkation. Drivers require maximum punctuality to guides and guests.
  • WHATSAPP: we advice to share with us your mobile number with a Whatsapp connection. On your train, you can recharge your mobile phones with individual electrical and USB sockets and accede to a free WiFi connection.
  • GLASS FACTORIES: Glass factories allow guests to visit their laboratories and arrange private, complimentary demonstrations. After the demonstration, they will lead you to their precious showroom, where they showcase their best artworks. If you are interested in purchasing large items, they can arrange safe shipping. The visit is worth it, even if you are not looking to make a purchase but enjoy it.

Great Day Trip

I must insist everyone reading this review. Take the trip to Venice! It is a must see, an experience to remember if you have never been. Claudia was our guide, and she did a terrific job of showing me and my wife around Venice. Venice is a massive maze, but she navigated it like the true professional that she is. Claudio thank you for giving us such a good woman to show us around. Even our driver Remo was considerate of our safety to and from the train station. The Private Day Trip From Rome To Venice is a must. Thank you to the whole team.

Best Birthday ever.

One the best tours we ever had! It was fast but enough time to see the highlights of Venice,Murano and Burano. Our tour coordinator was amazing and very knowledgeabl .I have the best birthday celebration in Venice. Please be aware that Venice is 4 hours away from Rome so you won't have time to relax but it was perfect for us.

Fantastic flexible tour without the rigid schedule of a group tour - highly recommend

From the moment we booked the tour until we were dropped off back at our rental suite we felt well taken care of. There was plenty of communication to ensure we had everything we needed and where we needed to connect with our guides. Our tour guide for the islands was Daria and she was such a joy to spend the day with. She gave us lots of interesting information about the island as well as free time to roam on our own. She also had several great food recommendations and took some great pics with our phone. Our driver was Remo and he was always right where we were told he would be, he was courteous and speedy but safe in getting us to and from the train station. In the island tours we also got a quick tour of the Murano glass factory and we got to meet one of the last lace makers of Burano. If you take this tour, the factory is not in full operation on Sundays so I’d recommend a week day as you would see a lot more production. Even so though we saw a gentleman whom been doing glass blowing for 72 years and made it look simple. Anna was the lace maker we met and she was very nice and there is a translator there that was able to facilitate our conversation. This tour was definitely expensive. The one on one with the guide however made an experience that we will remember way more so than some of the others we have taken. It was like being toured around the islands and Venice with a friend. If you have the financial means - take this tour!

Absolutely Amazing!

Amazing from start to finish. Alex was prompt with pickup and drop off. Alessia was waiting and stayed with us until we boarded. Train ride was relaxing. The only concern was our return ticket showed Napoli so we were a little confused but all was good, we got on right train. Now for the day, Claudia was very friendly and knowledgeable. She provided us with so much history of the islands. We were treated like royalty. Thanks for the most incredible time.

Not optimal time to go

Venice started out beautiful but after visiting the islands the weather changed drastically. We were drenched. But Donatella (bless her heart) drove on with the tour. I would suggest a backup plan for inclement weather. Pro: Having a driver and assistant to help me with the train was a great help! Also the boat captain was instrumental in getting us from island to island safely. Con: Pretty expensive for not having lunch included. Watch out for the vendors. They put much pressure on you to purchase items so one must be adamant if not interested. I would recommend this tour in warmer months. Donatella was very educated on the history of Venice.

Operator response

Hello Mrs B! Thank you for appreciating our staff's attitude and professionalism! Unfortunately, a walking tour is always subject to weather conditions, out of our control; that is why you received an email with these recommendations: "-Be prepared for rain, and in winter, wear waterproof shoes." But luckily, in your case, it rained only while you were inside the restaurant and a little bit on the way back to the station. But THANK YOU FOR THE HINT! We will add that, on request, one can enter a museum or a site if tickets are available. It is a private tour and you can always customize it according to your needs, which we are happy to know during the tour, as we make it clear in the Voucher and emails "We will be in contact with all the operators involved in your experience and stay at your disposal now and during the whole tour, so do not hesitate to contact us if needed." And "Ensuring your day trip is tailored to your needs is our top priority." These are not only words; we improve thanks to our clients's feedback. If we do not receive calls from the client or the guide, we assume everything runs smoothly. Regarding the costs, a SOLO TRAVELER PRIVATE PACKAGE cannot share with others fixed costs like 3 transfers with a private boat ( easy to check online the high cost of boat transfers) and a private guide. We did include a lunch stop, but it did not work for everyone for several reasons, so we decided to leave it free and reduce the final price. According to vendors, Donatella assured me nobody put any pressure, as we always recommend, disliking the practice ourselves when we are tourists. We selected the factory for this reason; apologies if you were not generally speaking! Glass and lace making is the aim of the islands and the reason why they are so famous worldwide; they are happy to offer FREE DEMONSTRATIONS held by artists working on designer projects. There are only factories with showrooms in this field. The glass factory, where we bring our clients, displays at many top expositions, and we are grateful they warmly welcome our clients to admire their artworks and sculptures. I hope I have given an exhaustive explanation that you enjoyed Venice and that your overall experience was positive. We wish we had known your requests immediately since our guides are highly accommodating, but make a treasure out of your feedback. Sincerely, Elisabetta

Day trip to Venice

Trying to visit the many beautiful sites in Italy is challenging. We decided to take a day trip from Rome to Venice by Train. Left the hotel at 6:50am and returned in the evening at 11:00pm. The trip was will coordinated, from our hotel pickup to ensuring we got on the right train, our tour guide (Donatella) met us in Venice. She coordinated our tour and was very knowable concerning the history of Venice. She made sure we got back on the right train at 6:30pm. Our driver was waiting for us when we returned to Rome and drove us to our hotel. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Great one day trip

It was a great trip and the train was easy. The only item to make is better would be reservations or tickets for church in Venice

Highlight of our Trip!

What a great day! Our guide, Donatella, gave us the best visit to Venice, Murano and Burano. It was a long day, but we were not rushed at any location (although we cut it pretty close getting to our train back to Rome, but we made it with 2 minutes to spare :)), had time to look around, get snacks and dinner. Donatella gave us so much information about each island and helped us get a good spot for a gondola ride. I highly recommend this tour!!

Highlight of our vacation

This trip to Venice was the highlight of our vacation. My 82 year old mother said she had always secretly wished to ride in a gondola! Our guide Daria handled our group well (kids, adults, and several older ladies). It was nice not to have to worry about logistics. The communication from Elisabetta was great.
