Grand Canal, the largest canal in Venice, built in Venetian-Gothic style. Venice’s canals, which cross the city like streets, are one of the most notable feature of Venice. The largest is the Grand Canal, which divides the city in two, with its four kilometers in length.
Campanile di San Giorgio dei Greci, or the 'leaning clocktower', was designed by Simone Sorella and completed in 1592. It apparently started tilting from the beginning of its construction. Like its adjoining church, the bell tower was built by and for the Greek community in Venice, primarily sailors and merchants. You will also have the chance to see the Sanctuary of St.Lucy.
The widest street in Venice. The entire route, which is made up of wide streets connected by bridges, was created during the 19th century to create rapid pedestrian access between Rialto and the railway station, demolishing the buildings that would otherwise delimit a long tortuous path between narrow streets.
The Rialto bridge is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Grand Canal in Venice. It is famous for both its architecture and its history. For years it was the hub of Venice's economy.
St. Mark's square is the principal public square in Venice and is one of the most fascinating squares in the world, so much so that Napoleon Bonaparte defined it as "the most beautiful hall in Europe". The Patriarchal Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mark, commonly known as St Mark's Basilica, is the cathedral church of the Patriarchate of Venice. The interior of the domes, the vaults, and the upper walls were slowly covered with gold-ground mosaics depicting saints, prophets, and biblical scenes.
Called the Bridge of Sighs by locals, this emblematic monument of Venice was built in the 1600s and connects the Doge's Palace with the historic prison on the other side of the canal. It was given this name because tradition has it that, at the time of the Serenissima, the prisoners, crossing it, sighed at the prospect of seeing the outside world for the last time.
The Church of San Zaccaria is a 15th-century former monastic church in central Venice. It is a large edifice, located in the Campo San Zaccaria. The present church was built between 1458 and 1515. The facade is a harmonious Venetian mixture of late-Gothic and Renaissance styles.
The Ponte dell'Accademia is one of only four bridges to span the Grand Canal in Venice. It crosses near the southern end of the canal, and is named for the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia.
The squero of San Trovaso is one of the oldest and most famous Venetian squeros. The squero is the classic shipyard where small-sized boats such as gondolas are repaired. Have a peek at how a gondola is made or repaired!
Reach the beautiful Campo San Pantalon to admire the beautiful painting by Banksy commonly referred to as "the shipwrecked/migrant child".
Campo Santa Margherita is a city square in the sestiere of Dorsoduro of Venice. It is located near university buildings and serves as a gathering place for students at the end of the day.
Piazzale Roma is a square at the entrance of the city, at the end of the Ponte della Libertà. Piazzale Roma and nearby Tronchetto island are the only places in Venice's insular urban core accessible to ground motor vehicles, such as automobiles and buses.

Tural was amazing! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made our visit to Venice unforgettable. He shared so much history, local insight, and hidden gems that we never would have discovered on our own. We truly got more than we expected from the tour. His enthusiasm and passion for Venice made the experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend booking a tour with Total if you want a fun, informative, and memorable experience in Venice
My wife and I were very lucky to be the only 2 people on our tour. But more than that we were lucky to have Zahra as our tour guide. Zahra met us at the train station with a warm smile and made us feel at ease from that first moment. The beauty of Venice was breathtaking but Zahra’s extensive knowledge of all the things Venice made every moment we spent there a dream come true. She showed us everything we were expecting but also the side of Venice that only those who live there or visit often will ever experience. My wife and I are planning on returning to Venice but will spend more time there. Such an incredible tour of an amazing city.
It was a good day trip with a super good guide We enjoyed the day and learned about the city without getting overloaded with data
Thank you for your lovely review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your day in Venice and that your guide helped you discover the city in an engaging and enjoyable way. We believe the best tours combine interesting stories and local insights without overwhelming guests, so we're glad the experience struck the right balance. Thank you for choosing RomaeTravel, and we hope to welcome you back for another Italian adventure in the future!
This review is on the price paid vs what is received. The train ride is basic. Considering the $800+ paid you’d think you’d get better seat selection for the 4 hr ride. The booking does not include any amenities such as a gondola ride. Nothing against the tour guide as he was knowledgeable but an $800+ tour price to have someone walk you throughout the island for 4 hrs is not worth the price.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! As mentioned in the tour description (the thrilling part just before the “Book Now” button), train tickets are for second class and seats could be randomly assigned by the railway company. While we’d love to personally choreograph everyone’s seating arrangement, that particular magic trick is unfortunately beyond our control. Sadly, our powers extend to organizing tours of Venice, not reprogramming national train seating algorithms. We do also mention that gondola ride tickets are not included. We hope you still enjoyed Venice itself — the canals tend to steal the show regardless of where one sits on the train.
Absolutely best tour guide in the business, Sneh Wayne. He deserve plus 50 points to his review score. He really allowed up to absorb the beauty and culture of Venice. He was very knowledgeable and receptive to what we were looking for in the trip.
Thank you so much for your review! We are happy you enjoyed your time in Venice and will be sure to tell Sneh
Very poor communication and was very difficult to get in touch. We missed our train due to the lack of contact
We are sorry to read this review as it is absolutely not true. We sent the train tickets the day before the tour, asking you to confirm the receipt. You sent us an email just a few minutes before the train departed to tell us you could not download the tickets. We have no other calls or messages from you and with less than 5 minutes before the departure we could not send you the tickets again in time. Therefore we feel this review is unfair because we did our due diligence and timely sent all information.
This tour makes for a long but incredibly memorable and rewarding day. The guided tour in Venice is end-to-end; our guide (Sneh) contacted me via Whatsapp while we were still on the train, met us in the train station, and escorted us back to the train to be right on time for boarding back to Rome. The highlight of the tour is obviously the guided experience in Venice. The tour is fairly customizable to your desires; we wanted to take a gondala ride, and Sneh made sure we were able to do that (despite the challenges of actually finding an available gondolier which turned out to be something of a challenge on a relatively less-busy day). My wife and I both had visited Venice previously on tours; on this tour, we visited parts of the city that we had not visited before and learned things on this tour that we did not know before. It was great for us that it felt like a “new” experience for us. Our guide was very engaging withour teenaged sons, who had lots of questions. Sneh has a very obvious and contagious love of all things Venetian, and that made the tour all the more memorable and enjoyable. He clearly knows his city and its history. Sneh’s recommendations for coffee/lunch and then later a quick bite to take with us on the train were both fantastic (and also time-efficient and relatively budget-friendly). Regarding logistics, the tour starts early in the morning. We were on a train that left Rome at about 7:30am, and of course you need to make sure you are at the train station in time for departure. When booking our pick-up from our hotel via this tour, we did not realize that the tour would not pick us up unless our hotel was inside the Aurelian Walls (this was our mistake), so this is something to be aware of when booking the tour if you are trying to take advantage of the pick-up option. The train ride was comfortable, but long - a little over 4 hours on the way there, and right at 4 hours on the way back. This leaves slightly under 4 hours in Venice. My wife and I were on the fence about whether this timing would make the trip “worth it”, but we were pleased that we both felt that the quality of the tour experience in Venice was so good, that it absolutely was the right decision for us. (We also had limited time available on our overall vacation, so this was a great option for us to be able to see and experience Venice in a manner that was an economical use of our time). If you have limited time and cannot stay overnight in Venice, this is a great alternative to be able to get an insightful and immersive 3.5 hour tour of Venice from your home-base of Rome. As with most of these experiences, the quality of the guided experience is what makes it even more memorable, and that was definitely the case for this tour.
Thank you for your amazing review! We will be sure to tell Sneh and we hope to see you again in Venice!
Venice is absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide Sneh Wayne made the experience even better. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Venice and took us to all of the must see locations. Our train arrived an hour late, and we were worried we would not get to see much however, Sneh contacted us and offered to switch our departure train time to an hour later. I was nervous taking this tour based on other reviews, but we had a great experience. Would recommend.
Thank you for your review! We will be sure to tell Sneh and we're happy you enjoyed your time in Venice
My day trip was amazing my tour guide Sneh Wayne was very attentive, knowledgeable, excellent manners and made me feel at home. I saw Venice with different eyes because of him. Tijana also went an extra mile to make me feel at home in their own home! Will be back to Venice and it is all because of them. They introduce me to main dishes and Venetian drinks I felt like a local. Overall love the tour but mostly loved the people I saw through their eyes!
Thank you for your nice review! We will be sure to tell Sneh and are very happy you enjoyed your time in Venice!
Do not rely on the transportation to the train had to get our own at last minute barely made it once in Venice guide was there to meet us and that part was good
