Cannot recommend to anyone

We waited two hours past our scheduled time at the coffee shop (we were given 2 drinks/ pastries voucher for our inconvenience) and then waited another 45 minutes in line for the Vatican in burning sun. Then once inside we waited another hour for the actual guide to secure our tickets and separate the groups. This company is extremely disorganized. Gave two stars for the poor guide who had lost her voice by the end of the day. Can not recommend.

Operator response

Good morning! Sorry with all due respect but your review is not correct. You were notified by message and CONFIRMED the time change at 5:15 p.m. on June 21 (we also have screenshots of the conversation), so it is absolutely not true that you had to wait two hours at the meeting point. If she didn't agree with the time change, we also offered her a refund and she decided to come at 17:15!! We also offered her a free aperitif, as we did with all our Viator customers! In addition, the wait could not have been 45 minutes in a row because the Museums close at 18:00 !!!! Like all visitors, the wait is for security checks of up to 15 minutes.

Vatican tour

Sistine chapel was beautiful. Disappointed in our guide and that our original tour that included St Peter’s was cancelled.

Operator response

Good morning! Thank you for your review. But there is a mistake: none of our tours include St. Peter's Basilica. To make a quieter and longer tour, we prefer not to include the Basilica. In addition, St. Peter's Basilica is totally free.

Excellent! Worth the price.

Our guide El was great! (Still a wait to go through security, but it is a quicker entrance). She was thorough and knew her history on the tour of the museum and Sistine Chapel. Stopped for plenty of time to take pics as well. One note is that it doesn’t take you to the Basilica so make sure to do that on your own. Stop for a bite of authentic family style cuisine after at a local restaurant La Vittoria a short walk away.

Operator response

Thank you so much!!♥️

Rushed, unorganized, time and date kept changing

Rushed, unorganized, time and date kept changing which caused us to have to change our train tickets. Once inside I felt as if it was a rush to get to the Sistine Chapel to end the tour. Regrettably I can’t recommend.

Operator response

Good morning Stephen. Thank you for your reservation. Unfortunately, his visit happened to us, on a chaotic day given the closure of the Vatican Museums on Saturday and Sunday. For this reason we had to change his reservation and make sure that you had time to see the Sistine chapel

Big crowds

Our guide was very good. Very long queue to get in though. Inside extremely busy and hot. Still a great experience

Not well organized!

Don’t expect to find your tour group easily. Very frustrating with bad communication and unclear instructions to meet up. Have to call to get someone to help and even then it was difficult. Luckily we did get into your. Your guide was nice and seemed knowledgeable but very hard to understand his accent.

Scheduled 3:30, tour started at 6 and Sistine chapel closed at 8. Ripoff!!!

We had a 3:30 appointment and the voucher said arrive 30 minutes before appointment. We arrived at 3 pm and was told at 3:40, viator overbooked the guides schedule. They had us wait at the cafe offering 1 free drink each (4 of us)until the next scheduled guide at 5 pm. Other people showed up approximately 4:55 and were offered a drink and a sandwich on the house. Tour started very late leaving us no time to get the full experience we paid for. The guide was not prepared, spoke too low and could barely hear through ear speaker. Our last day in Rome and we lost time and money. Viator needs to get better guides when people travel so far and spend so much for a once in a lifetime experience only for it to be ruined.

Ditch the tour, go solo

I'm going to cover off sounding like an entitled American, but I feeli should share. Our tour was bumped from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, so we were already jet lagged, but Vatican tickets were sold out and this tour was our only choice. Our guide was too quiet to hear until we got an audio ear piece, which was loud and she kept coughing into it. We didn't "skip the line," we waited outside the city and in the Vatican lobby for a very long time while our other guide secured tickets. The Sistine chapel was breathtaking.

Skipped the line.

Informative and easy. We walked right in and our tour guide was amazing. She knew so much. Our group was very small. We met at a nearby cafe and literally skipped the line.
