My tour was canceled and I had to do a self guided tour. Giving 2 starts only because the young man that took me to the Sistine Chapel was very nice, but I paid for a tour and didn’t get it.
Learned some things I did not know, got skip the massive lines. I also liked that our guide only got us to the basilica and then let us explore that part all on our own.
The confirmation info was wrong. It stated to go to “via 12” to redemp the voucher. Then we went to “via 32” (the meeting point). Our tour was 2:30 pm and we arrived at 2:20 pm. The staff told us just keep waiting there. I was asking what time the tour will starts at 3:00 pm then we went to another place to join other group to start the tour. The tour was running rush. It spent most of the time by looking at introductions for Sistine chapel. When we say goodbye to the guide it seems like a release!
An extensive and truly informative tour. Having a guide avoids long lines and provides information that is not known. It is almost a labyrinth to go through everything that the tour proposes and it is done with a headset, it helps you concentrate and hear everything even while walking among many tourists.
Extraordinary experience! The guide was fantastic, very informative and kept everyone in line and on time. Must see and do!
This is a rip off. First they canceled our original booking 20 hrs before the time (while we were on the plane). Then they helped us book another guided tour, but when we went to the meeting point, the tourist company told us that there is no English guide available and that we would have to go on our own... I would like my money back. We paid for a guide and got nothing...
Although “skip the line” is a must, this tour had 30 people and lots of time is taken to get tickets, headphones, and getting started. 15,000 people a day visit the Vatican so the crowds are ridiculous. Our guide was excellent and interesting to listen to.
