What a wonderful tour! I'm a newbie to photography, but love to do photo tours when I'm in a new city. Giulio was patient, willing to share his knowledge and experience with me, and he took me to some beautiful churches in Rome. I had a delightful time with Giulio, he's very open and has quite the background - it was fascinating to learn and he was very open in sharing what incredible work he's done and what he's working on. He was happy to answer all my photography questions (and there was a lot!), as well as all my Rome ones. He's super knowledgeable and is willing to share. He knew what the 'great shots' in the churches were, but would also say for me to have a look around and see what stood out and to photograph those too. It made the tour a lot more personal. I'm so glad I chose a tour with Giulio and Rome Photo Fun Tours!
Hello Nerys, Thanks a lot for your beautiful, heartfelt, and surely flattering review. I really appreciate all the good and kind words you spent about the photo tour of the churches we had, and I am extremely happy that I was able to communicate in a positive way the passion I have for photography, the beauty of Art, and for my hometown Rome. Do not hesitate to contact me again in the future if you should ever come to visit Rome again, or if you plan a tour in other regions of Italy. It will be my pleasure to give you a personalized photo tour based on your wishes and time availability. Happy New Year, Giulio
Another amazing tour! This was my second tour with Giulio and he continued to impress me with his knowledge in photography and local history. He knows Rome so well, that we’re able to visit numerous churches and sites in just a single morning. This tour was an excellent value!
Good morning Marlon, Thanks a lot for this beautiful review, and for having confirmed the opinion you had from the first tour we had together, proving with your words the consistency of my professionality. It means a lot to me. I hope to see you again some time in the next future, either in Rome again, or in the other tours I already told you about. Best regards, Giulio
I previously enjoyed the night tour and I booked another photo tour with Giulio to receive more lessons in photography, but in a different setting. Again, very knowledgeable and patient teacher. An absolute treat working with Giulio again. My photography skills are vastly improved thanks to his lessons. 10/10 experience!!
Dear Audrey, Thanks again for your five stars review and for the very beautiful words you spend on my skills. I am glad yours improved thanks to our workshops. I am sure you will take great shots on your present and future trips. I wish you all the best, Giulio
The churches of Rome are places of art, wonder and serendipity, To have a local photo guide like Giulio take you to some of these beautiful places and point out their vantage points is a great benefit to both hobbyists and pros who want to maximize their shooting time in Rome. Giulio has passion and energy and customized our itinerary based upon what we wanted to cover. We enjoyed our photo tour of churches with Giulio.
Dear Nash, Thanks a lot for your five stars review! I am truly glad you enjoyed the very special and unique photo tour of the Roman churches. It is indeed a dive into beauty, art, mystery, religious history, and mysticism. From the most ancient ones to the wonderful Baroque churches adorned by artists such as Michelangelo, Bernini, Caravaggio, etc, they all are amazing photo sets where one can surely both eye, soul, and technique. Having seen you photographing inside at least ten of them, I can surely say you did all that, and in a. very professional manner. It was a great pleasure to guide you in a journey of beauty. I hope to see you back in Rome for other short tours, or in Umbria and Tuscany for multi-day trips in history, nature, architecture, and Medieval-Renaissance wonders. Best regards, Giulio
You’re being coached by a Roman who can not only walk you to the best photo spots in Rome with his eyes closed, but because he’s a professional photographer with multi-layered knowledge and experience in different cultures and continents, he will also effortlessly guide you with your composition and camera settings. Very warm, friendly, kind, and funny. In perfect English, he gives you technical tips, gently and patiently repeating them until they sink in your head. He has loads of stories to tell, not only about the history of the sites, but pretty much else under the sun, including how to marinate rabbit and why you have to jaywalk with him on Rome’s busy streets. What’s not to love? When I first visited Rome almost two decades ago, I came home with lousy shots from my point-and-shoot. On this second visit, I meant to come home with the best shots possible. I’ve been teaching myself photography for five years in an effort to come up with publishable photos to include in the travel books I’m writing. Although I had a grasp of how the exposure triangle works, I’d never had the benefit of working with a pro. I’d mostly been shooting in either Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority mode, going Manual only occasionally. Giulio had me shooting in purely Manual mode, and after a couple of hours, I started feeling more confident with it. I took three tours: Rome by Night, Rome by Day, and Churches, Angels and Art, meaning I had the benefit of Giulio’s coaching for fourteen hours, resulting in a treasure folder of photos. I have been shooting more in Manual mode ever since. Now there’s a thick line that divides my photo files: BG and AG – Before Giulio and After Giulio. You can bet the AGs are superior to the BGs. The booking procedure was easy; Giulio responded to my emails promptly and clearly, and he accommodated some schedule changes I needed to make. Just keep in mind that the sites you are able to cover depends largely on your skill and energy level. Five sparkling stars; highly recommended!
Dear Odette, If my tours were good and satisfactory, your reviews not only equal but surpass them. I am so very glad you spent such good and flattering words about your photo walks with me, highlighting not just the photography technical part of them, but their fullness in terms of "experience" you had in Rome not just with a "photography guide" but rather with a person. I must say that it was a real pleasure walking through the eternal city with you, photographing, talking, and exchanging opinions, memories, and life experiences. That is exactly what makes me love this job I invented for myself, and when I read reviews like yours, I feel deeply happy and highly rewarded because I understand I was able to share not only my photography knowledge but also my passion for Rome and my love for life. I do hope our paths will cross again, maybe for future multiday tours in Umbria and Tuscany .... or for a glass of wine :-) Best regards and thanks again, Giulio
Let me start by saying that it was already my second tour with Giulio. Right after the stunning tour “From Dusk to Dawn” I decided to book this tour “Churches, Angels and Art Photo Tour”as well with him. So I met Giulio at Santa Maria Maggiore early in the morning punctually at 7:30 am as we agreed. He began the workshop by giving me all proper information on what we will be photographing in the various churches and how to photograph it. And then we started an amazing itinerary where he brought me to the most beautiful churches in downtown Rome. In each one of them he showed me how to focus on the beautiful art they preserve, shooting all - the long naves, frescos, and even the smallest details. And as this was already my second workshop with Giulio I also got enough time to look which detail or view is important for me to get a picture of it. Like in the first Tour “From Dusk to Dawn” I made with him, Giulio was also this time able to provide insightful historic information. And I also appreciated that he was flexible with the tour as I wanted to see a special church. So it was absolutely no problem to adjust his proposal and make it possible to see also another church. Once again, the tour with him was very pleasant as well as entertaining and informative. And also once again, I have to express that this workshop is something not to miss and which I can strongly recommend to book! At the end I can only say thank you, Giulio, for that fantastic time and the wonderful pictures I was able to make with your advice.
Dear Annette, Your beautiful review, once again makes me happy and proud of the job I do with my photo tours, and it makes me feel better not only as a teacher and tour guide but also and foremost as a human being able to communicate nicely and in a friendly way with people from all over the world. I am super glad you enjoyed the tour of the churches, a tour that not very many people book, missing, according to my humble opinion, a great opportunity to go deep into the history, art, and beauty of Rome. I know you have already booked yet another tour, the street photography one.....I hope your satisfaction with that one will be equal or more than the one you have had with the other two tours you already experienced. As I look forward to seeing you in a few days, I thank you again, and I send you my best regards, Giulio
This was our third and final photo workshop/tour with Giulio on our trip to Rome. Really enjoyed walking through the city, taking photos and hearing about Roman history. Rome is filled with many magnificent churches and basillicas that are a feast for the eyes and soul. Giulio was able to advise where to take the best shots within, give info on what could make a good shot and what settings to use in the light. Feel very fortunate to find Giulio and his workshops and have been able to meet and learn from him. Do not hesitate to take one or more of his phot tours! Thanks Giulio for a great time.
Here again, thanks a million David and Melinda, It was truly great to meet you too having the opportunity to share with you what I know about my beautiful town Rome, its amazing churches, the religious art they preserve and the and philosophy of photography. I do hope to see you back in Rome sometime soon. Best regards... and please spread the word about Rome Photo Fun Tours :-) Giulio

Giulio is not only an extremely talented photographer but he is a very attentive and ressourceful guide. Time really flew during the 4 hours we spent together. Giulio was able to shed a very special light on this event by sharing techniques and tips (something which was very appreciated) but brought us to breathtaking locations.... Would do it again without hesitation !!!!
