Itinerary
This is our meeting point, the magnificent once Popes' fortification, right in front of the bridge of Angels crossing over the Tiber, on which water its arches and castle reflect with a magnificent shining effect of lights.
We will be photographing Bernini's square, in heart of the Vatican City, taking shots of the amazing porches and fountain, and of course of the Mother of all Christian churches: St. Peter's Basilica.
This is one of the most beautiful and elegant backstreets of Rome, with a wealth of corners and charming little details to be photographed to capture the old soul of Rome.
This Renaissance, Baroque square, sitting on the ancient Domitian Stadium, is one of our main stops. Not only the beauty of its oval shape, and the three gorgeous fountains in it, the most important one being Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, are amazing subjects to photograph, but this square offers a great chance for an in-depth class on photography and its philosophy. Its buildings, as well as its details, will give us plenty of photo opportunities.
Facing the relatively small Piazza della Rotonda, the Pantheon is the best-preserved ancient Roman temple of the Eternal City. We will photograph it from different angles, capturing its Greek architecture embedded in a Romanic style later construction. The marble dolphins, marine monsters and gargoyles of the fountain in the middle of Piazza della Rotonda, will also be intriguing subjects for more photos.
Piazza del Campidoglio is one of the many Michelangelo's architectures masterpieces, with its amazing symmetric design, Marcus Aurelius equestrian statue in the middle and the beautiful facades of the three buildings on the sides. A perfect set for photos to be taken from many different angles.
A viewpoint over the Roman Forum is a magical spot to capture all the glorious beauty of ancient Rome. Columns, old temples and in the distance the Colosseum.... a breathtaking view to be captured by your camera for memories to keep.
Our tour will end at the most visited archeological site in the world, but at a time when almost nobody will be there blocking our view or standing in front of the camera. The shots of the Colosseum and of Constantine's arch will be those you always wanted to capture, the most iconic evidence of your Roman holidays and the final great reward for a tour that you'll wish could last more.

The night photography tour with Giulio was an excellent way to photograph Rome and learn about the history. He is so knowledgeable after travelling the world and being in this industry for so long, especially around Rome. Not only did he teach us new things about our cameras and framing, but while we walked to each destination he talked about the locations and gave us background information surrounding Rome and its history in those areas. It was a very peaceful experience where we got lots of beautiful photos out of it and learned a lot. Truly a 5 star experience, Giulio knows his stuff!
Hello Nea and Cole, Thanks a lot for your splendi five star review, I truly appreciate it. I am also very glad you enjoyed the tour so much, not only from a photography point of view, but also for the information about Rome and its history I provided. It is always beautiful to share my knowledge and the love I have for both my work and my hometown. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I hope we'll meet again sometime in the future. Best regards, Giulio
Giulio‘s knowledge of not only photography but Rome and ancient times made the experience amazing. We enjoyed the city by night. Thank you.
Hello Samantha, Thanks a lot for your very kind review. I really appreciate it. I do hope to see you again in Rome or other beautiful locations in Italy some time in the future for more equally beautiful photo tours. Cordially, Giulio
This was a fantastic experience! Guilio was such a gracious host and guide! He was very flexible with some circumstances that were beyond our control and went out of his way to make our experience great. He is very knowledgeable - teaches photography at the college level. Two people in our party came in with a decent amount of photography experience, so Guilio adjusted his interactions and direction to meet their ability level. He provided lots of great historical context and detail to the places we visited and photographed. We got some amazing photographs of some of the most iconic locations in Rome! He even tried to take us to a highly recommended gelato place to cool off after a long, hot evening (it was closed, but he gets an A+ for effort).

Guilio, thank you so much for your expert knowledge and history in Rome. I have been taking pictures through my travels and thought I knew it all. Well, at least I thought so, but learned so much more through your coaching and vision. I Iearned more in depth camera settings and definitely wiser choices on composition that made me re-evaluate my picture taking. For those that either are starting or more advanced, it would be an honor to have a mentor like Guilio! Thanks my friend, be back soon!
