Description

You can choose a design from my selection of traditional Turkish patterns . This class will help you appreciate all of the tiles that decorate the mosques in Istanbul. I will teach you how to transfer the design onto the tile, and how to use ceramic paint to fill in the pattern. For Turkish tiles, they need to also be glazed and fired in the kiln. You can take the tile home with you. It is a good gift for you that you made. Overall, this experience is really personalized in all the ways you could think of. It is satisfying to work on a piece of art from start to finish while surrounded by the beautiful backdrop of Istanbul.

I made it myself!

I'm not saying my tile will be displayed at Topkapi, but I'm proud of what I learned at my class. Betül's lovely studio and generous instruction made for a rewarding afternoon. There's nothing like being inspired by art and then practicing making it. Thank you to the Senguler's for sharing their special spot in Istanbul!

Immersion in the Turkish culture of itsik tiles

We made a trip to work to get to know the Turkish technique of ceramic paintings. Betul was very attentive and taught us from drawing to finishing. The next week we could pick up the burned dish. We found the experience sensational. There is still the option to do the class on the upper terrace overlooking the Bosphorus!!! Sensational! I recommend it to lovers of ceramic painting.
