We had a 24 hour layover in Istanbul and wanted to make the most of it. We reached out and set up a one day tour and had Arif Rakici as our guide. He met our group of nine at our hotel after breakfast, and we climb into a lovely air conditioned van to see the city. We were able to fit in the Blue Mosque, Haggia Sophia and the Cisterns. Unfortunately, the main cisterns were closed to during our visit, but Arif found another set within walking distance, so that we could get a feel for that system and understand how it works. Arif did an amazing job helping us understand the history, religion, and cultures of Istanbul. We mentioned we were headed to Venice the next day, and he made sure to include the impact of the Venetian’s during the crusades in the 13th century and even pointed out, the set of four horses on top of Saint Mark’s cathedral were originally taken from the Hippodrome in Istanbul. The thing I liked most about Arif is that he was really flexible with our group. We had an age range of 13 to 74, which can be a challenge. He worked well with all of us, and was very aware of the speed my dad was able to maintain. Additionally, my dad is a history buff and so they had some pretty in-depth conversations as we were moving from place to place. Arif was extremely knowledgeable and we would highly recommend booking a tour with him.
Feyza was an incredible tour guide with huge amount of knowledge and very friendly, helpful. We just loved her!! Highly recommend doing this tour, we got to jump the queues, and one on one personal touch rather than a large group tour was exemplary!!
Kemal was awesome. Took us places we would never have discovered on our own. The perfect way to see Istanbul with limited time.
We had a wonderful time on our two-day tour exploring Istanbul’s top sites with Hakan as our guide. He was incredibly friendly, deeply knowledgeable about the history and culture, and made every stop engaging. His recommendations throughout the two days were spot-on. If you’re looking for a tour who truly enhances the experience, Hakan is the one. Highly recommend!
We did the 2 day private guided tour withTarik who is an amazing guide. He is very professional, knowledgeable and very articulate and precise about the tour landmarks. He has an amazing way of explaining the ancient history (Roman), modern history (Christian and Islamic empires) and contemporary Turkish history. Tarik was also very helpful in teaching us how to use the public transportation and made us comfortable in using it after the tour was done. He showed us the different modes of transport and gave us helpful tips that saved us a lot of UberXL rides. Tarik was also very accommodating to our personal needs. My wife has a serious nut allergy and my son needs a gluten-free diet. He was able to guide us pick lunch spots that respected these and made sure the food prep was done properly. He also made sure we were not constantly pestered by street vendors. Overall an amazing Istanbul experience for our family thanks to Tarik!!
We had a wonderful and exciting tour with our private guide Ali through the old city of Istanbul. Besides showing us several mosques and other exciting buildings, he also managed to find a special place to have drink or eat some special food! He had a very good sense for his customers and their interests. Great job, thanks again!
We selected the 2 day tour and it was perfect. Our guide Tibet was amazing and made the whole experience the best. On day one, our guide met us at our hotel and walked us through Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar. Her explanation of the history and stories of each places made the experience. Day2 started with a quick tram ride and a Bosphorus cruise on a ferry. Seeing it from the water, Europe on one side and Asia on the other was relaxed, peaceful and still fascinating. Then on to the amazing Dolmabahce Palace and the spice market. Tibet made the whole tour flexible. We could go at our pace, stop for a rest when we needed. We could adjust for events that were happening and ask questions for what other experiences to do while in Istanbul. Highly recommended this tour, ask for Tibet
We had a great time touring Istanbul. Meetup at Galataport was easy. We added on a private vehicle but the sites were very close and we could have easily used the tram to get around. The agency was very responsive when I messaged through the TripAdvisor site.
We had a fabulous day visiting many sites in Istanbul with Tarik. He met us at our hotel and took us to several mosques, the cistern, a local restaurant and a centuries old inn that sold Turkish rugs. Tarik spoke excellent English, was very patient with my mobility issues and provided so many insights. We have recommended Tarik to friends who will be visiting Istanbul this fall, he's fantastic!
