Troy Full-Day Guided Tour incl. Transfer, Ferry Tickets w/Lunch

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this full day trip to Troy. While it was a long day (we were gone for about 15 hours), it was a great way to get to see the ruins of the legendary city while still being based in Istanbul. While there were some hiccups at the beginning of the tour and some long waits while picking up the other tour group members, overall, once you get to the site it is worth the wait. The tour guide for the site is extremely informative, helpful, and will make the history of the site come alive.

Had an incredible Troy tour with Hasan! His storytelling really stood out, blending history, mythology, and archaeology in a way that made the site come alive. The long journey was absolutely worth it, and the ferry ride added a fun touch along the way. Everything was seamless from start to finish, from the early hotel pickup to all the transfers and the drop-off at the end of the day. It is a full-day experience, I was picked up at 6am and returned around 9:30pm, with a well-paced itinerary that included lunch in Eceabat and a few hours exploring Troy itself. Highly recommend booking this tour instead of going on your own, Hasan’s expert guidance truly elevates the whole experience.

Absolutely recommend from start to finish a great excursion. Communication in advance, pickup, comfortable bus ride, ferry crossing, lunch, and the actual sightseeing of the city of Troy. The absolute highlight is yet to come, which was the guide Chuck/Charlie/Cagri. Funny, extensive knowledge, and all perfectly presented in Troy. Absolutely the best guide I have had so far. So I can only recommend booking this excursion.

As a mythology and history fan this tour was a great experience. Walking around Troy and listening to the guide was unlike anything else I did in Istanbul.

It is a long tour, optimized to be carried out in a single day. Everything fits, but meal options and information from Istanbul can be improved. The guide in the ruins is a super professional.

I took my Dad on the guided tour of Troy yesterday and we both had the most amazing time. The journey there from Istanbul was long but well worth it. The mini buses they had us on were all very comfortable and air conditioned. The various members of staff we met along the way were all helpful and friendly people. The tour guide at Troy was very knowledgeable and seened genuinely passionate about the history of the region which made the entire tour even more enjoyable. Our group was only small so it felt more personal to us than if it was a large coach full of people, it also help keep things moving at a quicker pace meaning we could see more. All together I cannot recommend this tour enough. If you have a passion for history, visiting the ruins at Troy is a must and this tour is the best way to do it for a reasonable price.

We had such a good time! It was so nice not having to worry about transfers, lunch, or the tour. The company handled everything! We just showed up, relaxed, and had fun. Our tour guide (Cindy) was so knowledgeable and sweet! We loved getting to talk with her. She seems like she really loves her job. Everyone we spoke with was so nice and helpful. The "What to Expect" page doesn't accurately convey the experience of this tour. We did: Single day trip from Istanbul. Positives: Pickup and transport were well-organised and the company was managing multiple groups, going to different places, with no issue. That's harder than it sounds, so they are clearly a well-trained team. Guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic (not just "running through a script"). They seemed to enjoy their work and actively engaged with the group. All good stuff, no complaints there ✅️ Negatives: The day is LONG. Much longer than the "What to Expect" page implies. From the company's current description, you'd expect about 10 hours total. It's more like 16. We had hotel pickup at 6am, but didn't actually arrive at Troy until 2pm (8 hours!) The time spent on-site was only 90mins. There was no visit to the Troy Museum, which is separate. Some other reviewers seem to have visited the museum, but we didn't get to do this. The visit to the horse at the harbour was about 2mins total, as the guide was rushing to get us on the ferry. We then reconvened at the tour office for transport back to the city. So, be prepared for a MUCH longer day than the What to Expect page implies. Troy itself: You can see the photos, it's quite small and sparse. You follow a single walkway around the hill, with about 6-8 stopping points of note. It's tiny. I'm an ancient history enthusiast and even I was surprised at just how *small* Troy really is, and how limited are the visible ruins. Of course, that's not the company's fault, and our guide did a good job at explaining everything, even for people who don't know much about the site. Just be aware there is very little "wow factor" at Troy. Summary: Again, I don't think the "What to Expect" accurately describes the tour experience here. The day is much, much longer than the description suggests. I wouldn't recommend this as a single day-trip, unless you're happy with 16+ hour day and only 90minutes at Troy itself.
