You’ll see it all and learn about the local history and wildlife and be able to feel the serenity that this scenic part of the country provides.

The densely forested Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a solitary path. The drive up the mountain will definitely reward you with stunning scenery of the Smoky Mountains. En route you'll make stops to enjoy the spectacular views. You’ll learn all about the woodland that makes up the Smoky Mountains - chestnut oak, white oak, magnolia, maple and tulip trees. After reaching the pinnacle, you'll start your drop. This was the American Frontier during the 1830s and 1840s. Log lodges and plants remain from almost 200 years of history!

The tour was disappointing. The drive could have been done in any car so didn’t give the jeep experience. Worse the speaker they tried to use didn’t work so 2 out of the 3 families on the tour couldn’t hear the guides. We also didn’t stop at the overlooks due to lack of parking even so the guides could have better positioned the vehicle for views and pictures.

Disappointed. We couldn’t hear the guide on his mic. When we asked him to turn it up he did and told us he maxed it out. We still couldn’t hear. He never asked again. We heard nothing on the entire trip.

We had Cindy #88 as our guide, and another gentleman in training. Sorry, forgot your name dude! They were both excited to share their place with us. No stone was left unturned, no joke was left without a punchline. Cindi may or may not have had to play parking cop so they could exit a parking spot in the mountains but if people were to listen to the-rules and follow the signs there wouldn’t be an issue, but that’s besides the point. We are so glad that they controlled the weather for such a perfect day. It made it even better. Make sure you come to this place and if you can’t get her as a guide, do so.

David was a 15/10 guide! He kept us entertained with stories about the area. We stopped 3 places for pictures and he even let us play in the stream for 30 minutes. He was so helpful with my husband, who has very limited mobility. THIS is the tour -specifically with David- that you want to book. You won’t regret a minute of it!
