The marvelous Pena Palace was built on one of the highest points of Sintra Mountain, offering stunning views. It represents the greatest example of 19th-century Romanticism in Portugal, with different influences from the Manueline and Moorish styles. You may wander through its lush gardens, which have more than five hundred tree species from all over the world. The famous composer Richard Strauss named this magnificent palace the "Castle of the Holy Grail."
Wander the cobbled lanes of Sintra's heart, where history is etched into the very stones and local pastries add sweetness to your exploration.
After crossing Sintra Mountain, you will reach the most western point of Continental Europe, the imposing Roca Cape, which is 140m above the ocean level and was immortalized by the illustrious Portuguese poet Luís de Camões: “where the land ends and the ocean begins.”
Guincho Beach is one of the greatest beaches in Cascais and one of the most beautiful. It's well known for its wild dunes and untamed sea. How about a superb lunch with sea flavor and a stunning ocean view?
Cascais was the summer residence of the Portuguese royalty and aristocracy in the 19th century and the place of exile of the European monarchy during the Second World War. This fishing village became a cosmopolitan seaside resort, considered the Portuguese Riviera, with sumptuous mansions.
Estoril has long welcomed international visitors, and during World War II, it acquired a glamorous reputation when Portugal's neutrality and mild weather attracted the rich and famous, German and English spies, and European royals and aristocrats. We had a fantastic day trip to Sintra. Our driver was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing great historical insights throughout the journey. The car was comfortable, spotless, and always on time. One of the biggest advantages of this service was the convenience. We were able to stop at all the key sights and be picked up exactly where we needed, without having to worry about parking, traffic, or directions. This made the day completely stress-free and allowed us to focus on enjoying Sintra. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, efficient, and informative way to explore the area.

Our guide, Ishmael, was great. Ask for him. This is a great tour. Many people say Pena Castle is “touristy” and crowded - but if you are a tourist and have never been there it is very much going too. The coast and Cascais, are beautiful. We had an awesome time with a professional, friendly, knowledgeable guide. If you are not sure, I highly recommend. Also recommend you confirm your pick- up time if you did not book directly through Blue Diamond.

We had a wonderful day with Ruben who was an excellent guide and driver with a wealth of knowledge about cultural traditions and history. We had a fantastic day with Edgar, our driver, who showed us the sights and sounds of Sintra, the Peña Palace and the beautiful coast of Portugal between Sintra & Lisbon. He is an excellent driver who always showed a high level of care and patience while we were on the tour. His English is excellent, and he had a very good knowledge of the various sights and history of Sintra and Lisbon. His recommendation for lunch was outstanding. He secured us a fantastic table, right by the window, with sweeping views of the coast back towards Cabo da Roca, the most western point of Europe. The food was a treat with my wife enjoying Veal with mushrooms while I tucked into fresh sole, cooked in butter. Delicious. I can highly recommend this tour and Edgar, our driver.
