Sintra is a wonderful villa, full of history, located at one of the foothills of the Serra de Sintra. With its castles, palaces and small streets full of colors, it is an authentic fairytale setting. Here we take a short break to see the village, have a coffee and taste the traditional pastry.
This is a mysterious place, inside the garden there are several tunnels and a well where you can enter. On days when there are many visitors it is impossible to visit the interior, you waste a lot of time in line, on other days we allow you to visit this place.
In addition to visiting the village of Sintra, on this tour we also visit the Sintra Natural Park, surrounded by wonderful trees, enjoying magnificent views in an enchanting atmosphere.
Huge cliffs next to the Atlantic and some beaches are also part of this Natural Park, for this reason we'll also cycle on top of the cliffs and visit some beaches, especially the wonderful beach Adraga , where on warmer days it will be possible to swim a little.
This is the most westerly point in Europe, passing through this symbolic place is another highlight of this tour.
Still within the Sintra Natural Park, we will visit one of the highest points of this mountain range, the Santuario da Peninha, which has an absolutely wonderful view. On sunny days it is possible to see Lisbon, Cascais and the entire expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
This is one of the most famous beaches in Portugal, known for its large and powerful waves, it is great for surfing and wind surfing.
Located between Serra de Sintra, Praia do Guincho and Vila de Cascais, you will find this place, where sometimes the sea is so strong that people started calling this place the mouth of hell.
This city became very famous during the Second World War, when many European royal families came to live here. Here we will cycle close to the sea, an authentic blue lake, close to wonderful houses and breathtaking landscapes.

The tour was very well designed. It started with a warm-up ride along a seaside cycle path, which gave us time to get used to riding the e-bikes before heading into the hills. The e-bikes were powerful and made it easy and enjoyable to explore the hilly areas of Sintra and the surrounding countryside. Along the way, Maria shared interesting bits of history, which made the experience even more enjoyable. **Tip:** The guide is very flexible when it comes to lunch, the places you visit, and the overall duration of the tour. It's a good idea to think in advance about what you would like to see and do. The tour can last more than eight hours, so keep that in mind when planning dinner or any evening activities.

We had such a fun day. Maria was a wonderful guide. She took us to an adorable pastry shop to a treat early in the day. Gave us a choice between grabbing sandwiches to eat along the way or going to a restaurant for lunch. We picnicked in the forest. She spent an extra couple hours with us. No rush, just wanted everyone to have a good time.

Maria ensured we had an incredible adventure from gaining e-bike confidence to teaching us how to take the train to seeing just about every every angle of Sintra from sea level to a 1600 foot elevation gain. We exceeded our daily steps as well as e-biked over 20 miles. This excursion exceeded every expectation! Thank you, Maria!

We had gone on their 7 Hills ride the day before and It was amazing, and we were looking forward to this one to see more of Portugal outside of a Lisbon. Edwardo was amazing. Great history and sights and his knowledge of every area we went by and in was great. Castles, sandy beaches. amazing forest and homes too. We had lunch had a fabulous restaurant he recommended and it delivered. It will get its own review, but it was called Nicolau. Outstanding salads, tacos, sandwiches and more. When we return to Lisbon we will be booking again. Thank you Edwardo and Lisbon Bike Tours!
Maria was an excellent tour guide. The day was better than I expected, challenges when we were off-road… beautiful when we were on pavement. Plenty of stops along the way as we desired, everything flexible. I highly recommend this E bike tour.

Miguel was a fantastic guide. Fun, informative and safely navigated crowds and traffic. Saw a variety of scenery we would not have seen any other way. The e-bikes exceeded expectations.

It was one of the best bike tours we have done! We got to choose to go off road or not. We chose to do off road and there wasn’t anyone else, and we were in a national forest. The food at lunch was phenomenal. I am not usually a sangria person, but it was great and refreshing! Just be prepared for wind blown sand near and at the first beach.

We booked an e-bike tour exploring Sintra and Cascais. Our guide was Maria from freebiketourslisbon.com. Maria was very knowledgeable and getting us on and off the train from Lisbon to Sintra and then back from Cascais was not an easy task. She was very safety conscious, which when riding a bike is very important to us. We stopped at a great little restaurant that was out of the way and Maria suggested a great meal. Great workout even on an e-bike! If you enjoy cycling this tour with Maria is highly recommended!

It's a pretty long day, lots of time on the train. But the park and the views are fantastic. The guide was nice, however she should have stuck to the time advertised. We got back too late.
Thank you for participating in the tour, and we're glad you enjoyed the route and the guide. The train journey takes about 35/40 minutes; the problem is that trains run less frequently on Sundays, which sometimes causes delays. On the other hand, the tour duration (8 hours) is indicative and may vary for several reasons, such as the weather, how everyone cycles, etc. Safety and comfort are always a priority. In any case, as we always try to improve, we will take your observations into account. Thank you
