Your first stop in the middle of the rolling hills will be Siena, visit this city is like doing a step back to Medieval Tuscany. Siena's heart is its central piazza known as Piazza del Campo, known worldwide for the famous Palio run here, a horse race run around the piazza two times every summer .
Admire the Palazzo Pubblico and the majestic Tower of Mangia , a 87m-high square stone tower, built from 1325 to 1348, with a belfry dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It will capture your attention while you will strolling around the unique Il Campo square,
Proceed with the tour to the Church of San Domenico where you will have the chance to admire the Reliquary of Santa Caterina of Siena.
You will then stop in a local Tuscan trattoria in Siena city’s heart, enjoy the fresh pasta dishes and the excellent local wines!
After lunch, head to explore the ‘’Medieval Manhattan’’ : San Gimignano ! San Gimignano rises on top of a hill 334m above sea level, clearly visible in the distance with its many towers. Today 13 San Gimignano Towers remain of the 72 towers of the fourteenth century, when every well off family built a tower to show its economical power .Climb one of the towers and admire the panoramic views, overlooking the Tuscan Hills. You will then enjoy the famous Vernaccia, a delicious white wine that San Gimignano is known for.
