Belonging to the fountain is the legend whereby throwing a coin in the fountain you will ensure your return in Rome.
Take a look at one of the most important squares in Rome admiring form the external side the greatness of the Vatican. In the middle of the square rises an elegant ancient Egyptian obelisk flanked by two granite fountains, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Carlo Maderno designed, all surrounded by a massive Doric colonnades. Located directly in front of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City, is enriched by an ancient Egyptian obelisk, erected at the current site in 1586. Gian Lorenzo Bernini designed the square almost 100 years later, including the massive Doric colonnades,[1][2] four columns deep, which embrace visitors in "the maternal arms of Mother Church". A granite fountain constructed by Bernini in 1675 matches another fountain designed by Carlo Maderno in 1613.
Designed principally by Donato Bramante, Michelangelo, Carlo Maderno, and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, St. Peter's Basilica is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture. Its dome, also known in Italian as Cupolone is quite iconic of the Eternal City and dominates the roman's skyline.
Be amazed by the lights of the multiple bridges on the River Tiber and travel down the elegant Via Veneto of “La Dolce Vita” fame and its paparazzi memories.
The tour will end with the breathtaking views of Rome from the terrace of Gianicolo, one of the best locations in the town for a scenic view of central Rome with its domes and bell towers. While enjoying one of the most incredible and breathtaking panoramic views of the sparkling Eternal City raise a toast to celebrate this magical moment before being taken back to your accommodations.
The Circus Maximus (Latin for "largest circus"; Italian: Circo Massimo) is an ancient Roman chariot-racing stadium and mass entertainment venue in Rome, Italy. In the valley between the Aventine and Palatine hills, it was the first and largest stadium in ancient Rome and its later Empire. It measured 621 m (2,037 ft) in length and 118 m (387 ft) in width and could accommodate over 150,000 spectators. In its fully developed form, it became the model for circuses throughout the Roman Empire. The site is now a public park.
Piazza Venezia is the central hub of Rome, Italy, in which several thoroughfares intersect, including the Via Dei Fori Imperiali and the Via del Corso. It takes its name from the Palazzo Venezia, built by the Venetian Cardinal, Pietro Barbo (later Pope Paul II) alongside the church of Saint Mark, the patron saint of Venice. The Palazzo Venezia served as the embassy of the Republic of Venice in Rome. One side of the Piazza is the site of Italy's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Altare Della Patria, part of the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy. The piazza or square is at the foot of Capitoline Hill and next to Trajan's Forum. The main artery, the Via di Fori Imperiali begins there and leads past the Roman Forum to the Colosseum. Capitalizing on this modern and ancient symbolism--and the useful open space--Piazza Venezia was the location of public speeches given by the Italian dictator Mussolini to crowds of his supporters in the 1920s-1940s.
The building was erected in Campo Marzio, in the place that tradition had consecrated to the scenic performances, connected with the temple of Apollo. The project was started by Julius Caesar and taken over by Augustus. Probably completed in 17 BC, Teatro di Marcello was dedicated in 13 or 11 BC to the memory of Marcello, nephew and successor of the emperor, who died in Baia in 27 BC. Teatro di Marcello was still in operation in the 4th century; later it was transformed into a fortress, owned by the Pierleoni and Fabi families. In the 16th century, Baldassarre Peruzzi erected the still existing building, on behalf of the Savelli family and was purchased two centuries later by the Orsini family. It was an impressive theatre with a diameter of 130 metres. 36 bronze vases facilitated the acoustics. The theatre was covered by a "Velario" and had a capacity of 15,000 seats, 20,000 in case of need.
The Tiber Island (Italian: Isola Tiberina, Latin: Insula Tiberina) is the only island in the part of the Tiber which runs through Rome. Tiber Island is located in the southern bend of the Tiber. The island is boat-shaped, approximately 270 metres (890 feet) long and 67 metres (220 feet) wide, and has been connected with bridges to both sides of the river since antiquity. Being a seat of the ancient temple of Asclepius and later a hospital, the island is associated with medicine and healing. The Fatebenefratelli Hospital founded in the 16th century, and the San Bartolomeo all'Isola dating from the 10th century are located on the island.

Andrea was very informative and accommodating. He geared the tour around this being our first visit to Rome.
Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful words. We’re delighted to hear that Andrea made your first visit to Rome so special and memorable. Knowing that you felt welcomed and enjoyed the tour truly makes us proud. We hope to have the pleasure of guiding you again to discover even more of our city’s treasures! Warm regards, Tour In The City
He did such a fantastic job! Drove us all over the place and even customize the tour to take us back to a gift shop that we wanted to go to! He ended at a higher altitude so we could take some pictures over the Citi and the entire time was pointing out all of the best Seitz. I highly recommend this particularly if you get really hot or have trouble walking it’s a perfect tour.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that your guide went above and beyond to customize the experience just for you — from revisiting the gift shop to ending the tour with a stunning panoramic view of the city. It's wonderful to know the tour was both enjoyable and comfortable, especially for those looking to avoid the heat or long walks. Your recommendation means a lot, and we hope to welcome you back for another fantastic experience soon!
After having taken a bus tour of the main Rome tourist sites on prior trips, we wanted something more intimate and different this time. This tour certainly fit that bill. Our driver Pietro was extremely nice, professional and focused on what we wanted to see and on showing us places most tours don’t take you. He was able to stop much closer to sites than tour buses and to maneuver through the tight, crowded streets easily. Our only negative was Pietro’s lack of English made communication challenging, but after a while it just added to the charm of the tour. The vehicle was clean, stocked with water & comfortable. If you need an ongoing narrative of the sites you’re seeing by a guide who stays with you this might not be the tour for you. But if you want to stop close to the regular tourist spots, or see sites from overlooks accessible only by smaller vehicles, this might be the tour your looking for.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed a more intimate and unique experience of Rome with us. Pietro will be very happy to know you appreciated his kindness, professionalism, and effort to tailor the tour to your interests. We understand that the language barrier may have presented a small challenge, but we're glad to hear it added a bit of charm to your adventure. We're always working to improve and will continue supporting our drivers in developing their English skills. Thank you again for choosing our tour. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit to Rome for even more hidden gems and memorable moments! Warm regards, Tour in The City

Our driver brought Rome alive for us, even with the down pour of rain, he made sure I was save in the rain by providing an umbrella while I got the pictures.

Our private tour guide, Marco, was terrific and very helpful to us. We are in our late 60s and Marco was very helpful and considerate of our limitations. I'd recommend him and this tour to anyone.

On time, clean and professional. Did not come with us to the visited sites, did not give any history or details on them. Gave us water bottles. While it was a private tour, don't feel it was worth the price premium above regular or small group tours. Saw the same areas and same 3 hour time frame.
knowledgeable tour guide toured at our pace. Luca was fun and very helpful. The highlight of our trip was the Vatican
