Itinerary
Inside the smallest State in the world and its "green heart", amid monuments, historical fountains and rare botanical treasures
You will enter directly to the Sistine Chapel with a special access through the Room of the Aldobrandini Wedding, previously known as the Room of Samson on account of the ceiling frescoes by Guido Reni narrating the Stories of Samson. This room is usually close to the public.
The Sistine Chapel takes its name from Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere (pontiff from 1471 to 1484) who had the old Cappella Magna restored between 1477 and 1480. It is known throughout the world both for being the place where the conclave and other official ceremonies of the Pope are held (in the past also some papal coronations), and for being decorated with one of the most famous and celebrated works of art of artistic civilization the frescoes by Michelangelo
Enjoy the breathtaking Saint Peter's Basilica, shrine of Christianity and Art. You will marvel at the Priceless Pietà, by Michelangelo, and stop by the venerable tomb of Saint John Paul II & Pope Karol Wojtyla.
The Pietà is a work of Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo Buonarroti, housed in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City. It is the first of a number of works of the same theme by the artist. The statue was commissioned for the French Cardinal Jean de Bilhères, who was a representative in Rome. The sculpture, in Carrara marble, was made for the cardinal's funeral monument, but was moved to its current location, the first chapel on the right as one enters the basilica, in the 18th century. It is the only piece Michelangelo ever signed.
This monumental elliptical space, enclosed by 284 Doric columns four rows deep (196m wide and 148m long), is the masterpiece of Gian Lorenzo Bernini, who laid it out during the pontificates of Alexander VII and of Clement IX.

We did 3 half-day tours with CityEyes in Rome and I could not recommend enough! We did a golf cart tour, the colosseum, the Vatican City, and so much more! Our tour guide Katie was AMAZING!!! She is originally from California but has been living in Rome for 17 years. She was so kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend using CityEyes when visiting Rome and ask for Katie as your tour guide.
Your words about CityEyes and Katie are truly wonderful to read. Thank you for recommending us so warmly and for letting us be part of your memories in Rome. Grazie, e arrivederci! Katie, and the CityEyes Team
This private guided tour is a MUST DO! Our guides Carlo (Vatican Gardens only) and Maria (Vatican, museums, Basilica) were so excellent and I feel bad for anyone who does NOT have them as their guides. The excitement and passion they both had for their city & the sites were unparalleled.

We visited Rome for three days and we have been extremely lucky to be in the company of the amazingly knowledgeable, dainty yet hands on guide Eleonora Federici who took us to Vatican City then walked us through the amazingly rich and beautiful history of the Vatican. When we shall return to Rome we will absolutely spend more time with this inteligent young woman, an absolute professional who gave us an insight of this beautiful city we shall keep forever. Hungry for more, we shall see Eleonora soon enough, again. The Vatican is special, but Eleonora gave us the tids bids of history that made in unforgettable. Thank you!

Made for a great experience! We had a good time and got some close photos! She knew where to sit for the best views and explained what all was happening. She was also able to answer all our questions.
Hi Brian, Fantastic, we are happy to hear your experience with Eyes of Rome and your guide have been beyond memorable! We truly hope to see you again in Rome to provide you with more tours of this beautiful city!
My partner and I did a tour of the Vatican Gardens, Museum and St Peter's Basilica (the first two with a Vatican staff member and the last with an Eyes of Rome employee Denis). We had a great time, the gardens and the Basilica being particular highlights. Both the guides were extremely knowledgeable, informative, easy going and fun. We had great half day and would thoroughly recommend this event to anyone, particularly those who fancy the tour of the more secluded gardens!
Dear customer and friend, GRAZIE for your lovely review to Denis and the Eyes of Rome team. We highly appreciate your feedback and most of all we are pleased we contributed to a make your tour a great experience. We hope to see you soon again in Rome!
We were picked up in a private car at our hotel and brought directly to the Vatican. That tour lasted about 30 mins. Then after a fair walk to the Vatican Museum, then into the gardens. Wow! No words. If you have ever wanted to see these gardens in a private setting, this the way. My wife and I were guided by a member of the research staff of the Vatican archives, and she was beyond compare. It was as if the Pope would be walking around the corner at any moment. Forget the price, just do it!!!
Dear Robert, what a lovely review! thanks so much. What made us truly happy is to see your satisfaction and excitement. We are pleased to have been part of your memorable experience. The Garderns are really beautiful :) Come back to Rome soon! Ciao, The Eyes of Rome Team
We had the pleasure of visiting the Vatican on April 2, 2022, with Azzurra Della Seta (Blue) as our personal tour guide. We appreciated her setting the stage for the museums and Sistine chapel before we started the actual tour. She carried with her a tablet which was a photo resource that enriched her stories and her responses to our questions. She is personable, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and a great communicator. She tailored the tour to our interests. It was easy to remain engaged during the 4-hour tour.
The vesper team, guide and drivers made the experience great fun. Fabulous. Will definitely recommend.
Friendly, competent, speaking very well in French, this private visit just for my wife and I was just perfect:-) Bravo and Thank you Azzura!
