Villa Borghese, an iconic retreat in Rome, spans 148 acres of lush gardens, serene lakes, and ancient trees, offering a peaceful haven amid the city's bustle. Originally built for the Borghese family in the 17th century, it now houses a spectacular art gallery showcasing works by Caravaggio, Bernini, and Raphael, among others. The villa's architecture exudes Baroque elegance, complemented by manicured lawns, charming fountains, and scenic viewpoints that overlook Rome's historic skyline. It's a cultural and natural gem, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in art, history, and tranquil landscapes in the heart of Italy's capital.

Pass by

Piazza del Popolo, a majestic square at the northern edge of Rome's historic center, captivates visitors with its grandeur and historical significance. Framed by elegant neoclassical buildings and twin Baroque churches, the square boasts a central Egyptian obelisk from ancient times, a symbol of Rome's imperial past. Originally a bustling marketplace and later a venue for public events, Piazza del Popolo is now a hub for cultural gatherings and leisurely strolls.

Pass by

The Spanish Steps, or Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti, are a beloved symbol of Rome's architectural grace and cultural richness. Constructed in the 18th century, these 135 steps connect the Piazza di Spagna below with the Trinità dei Monti church above, offering a stunning view of the city. Adorned with vibrant azaleas in spring and featuring the Barcaccia Fountain by Bernini at its base, the Steps attract visitors who gather to relax, socialize, and enjoy the surrounding boutiques and cafes. They embody Rome's blend of history, art, and cosmopolitan charm in a timeless urban setting.

Pass by

The Trevi Fountain, Fontana di Trevi in Italian, is a dazzling masterpiece and one of Rome's most iconic landmarks. Completed in the 18th century, it stands as a Baroque extravaganza, designed by Nicola Salvi and adorned with intricate sculptures depicting mythological figures and sea creatures. The central figure of Oceanus dominates the scene, while the fountain's cascading waters create a mesmerizing spectacle. Visitors flock to toss a coin over their shoulder into the fountain, a tradition believed to ensure a return to Rome. Surrounded by bustling streets and historic buildings, the Trevi Fountain captivates with its grandeur, artistic detail, and romantic allure, making it a must-see destination in the Eternal City.

Pass by

The Colosseum, or Colosseo in Italian, is an awe-inspiring testament to ancient Roman engineering and grandeur. Built over 2,000 years ago, it stands as the largest amphitheater ever constructed and a symbol of Rome's imperial might. Originally used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles, the Colosseum could hold up to 80,000 spectators. This iconic monument features a distinctive elliptical shape with four levels of arches, showcasing the innovative building techniques of its time. The exterior is composed of travertine stone, once adorned with statues, while the interior housed a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers for performers and animals. Today, the Colosseum remains a marvel of ancient architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site, drawing millions of visitors annually to explore its history and significance. It stands as a poignant reminder of Rome's cultural legacy and continues to inspire admiration for its enduring beauty and historical importance.

Pass by

Piazza Venezia, centrally located in Rome, is dominated by the grand Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland), a monumental structure honoring Italy's first king. Surrounding the square are historic landmarks like Palazzo Venezia, once a papal residence and now a museum. The square's strategic position connects to Via dei Fori Imperiali, leading to the Roman Forum and Colosseum, and Via del Corso, a bustling street for shopping and dining. Piazza Venezia stands as a symbol of Rome's history, culture, and architectural splendor, attracting visitors with its monumental beauty and central role in the city's vibrant life.

Pass by

The Pantheon, a marvel of ancient Roman engineering and architecture, stands majestically in the heart of Rome. Built around 126 AD during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, it has served variously as a temple to Roman gods and now as a Christian church. Its iconic domed roof, with an oculus at the center, remains the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome, a testament to Roman ingenuity. The Pantheon's Corinthian columns, granite walls, and intricate detailing captivate visitors, while the oculus allows sunlight to illuminate its vast interior. This architectural masterpiece continues to awe with its blend of history, spirituality, and architectural brilliance, making it a must-visit destination in Rome's historic landscape.

Pass by

Piazza Navona, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture in Rome, stands on the site of the ancient Stadium of Domitian. Its elongated oval shape is adorned with three magnificent fountains, including Bernini's Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) at its center, depicting allegorical figures representing major rivers. Surrounded by elegant palaces and churches, the square buzzes with outdoor cafes, street performers, and a vibrant atmosphere that draws locals and tourists alike. Piazza Navona encapsulates the essence of Baroque art and Roman history, making it a must-visit destination for its beauty, cultural significance, and lively ambiance.

Castel Sant'Angelo, originally built as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian in 139 AD, stands majestically on the banks of the Tiber River in Rome. Over the centuries, it has served as a fortress, papal residence, and prison. The castle is renowned for its cylindrical shape and towering height, crowned with a statue of the archangel Michael sheathing his sword. Great place to start

Our tour guide Julius was great. He was very patient and knowledgeable. My husband, a avid history buff, would ask him obscure questions about random Roman emperors or locations and he always had an answer. The length of the tour is good but there is so much to see. This is definitely a good way to give you a introduction to Rome.

Worth it!!

Sam was an awesome guide!! He had lots of information and was helpful with things you should visit or places you should eat. He gave us plenty of time to take pictures and see the monuments. He was very kind when answering questions! Got to see much of Rome in a short ride. Beware of bumpy roads though due to cobblestone. But felt secure in golf cart.

Outstanding tour

Outstanding tour. We went at 7pm so it was cool and saw much of Rome lit up. The guide Julius was amazing. Very knowledgeable and great English so we understood everything. He answered all our questions and was a very calm and confident driver - very useful when navigating Rome traffic in a golf buggy. Highly recommend this tour when you first get to Rome.

Must see tour.

The tour was good. Guide was very knowledgeable but she was hard to understand for an English speaking guide. The ear headset was not very good. But even with those issues the tour was very good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rome Golf Cart Tour with Luca – Viator Review

If you’re visiting Rome, book this tour immediately! Our guide, Luca, was absolutely phenomenal. We had already visited the Colosseum earlier in the day, so instead of following the standard route, he customized the tour specifically for our family of four. Since the other guests didn’t show up, we essentially had a private experience. Luca took us to Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Trastevere, Piazza Venezia, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and Castel Sant’Angelo. He even stopped for gelato and made sure we had plenty of opportunities for photos and shopping. His knowledge of Rome’s history, architecture, and culture was outstanding, and he shared fascinating information throughout the tour. The golf cart was a fantastic way to see so much of Rome in a short amount of time without exhausting ourselves in the heat. This was one of the highlights of our entire trip, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. Thank you, Luca, for an unforgettable experience!

This is a much do even if you have seen all the highlights before. Taking a golf cart around Rome's City Center is the only way I will do this in the future. We hit all the major attractions and a few I had never seen before. Driver was so informative and knew so much about the history of Rome. 1000% recommend!!
