You'll join one of our local Rome hosts for a food tour around historic Testaccio, an edgy neighborhood that reads like a grid of old-school trattorias and trendy street food joints (hopefully while wearing your stretchiest trousers). You'll eat your way around the district where the Cucina Romana was born - since after all, the best way to discover a new culture is through its food. You’ll feast on the hyper-local and seasonal dishes which Rome is famous for and discover regional and seasonal produce while also trying some local pizza. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

Our guide, Alexandra, personalized our food tour to showcase the very best of pastry/breads in Rome. We met in the center of Rome and toured the Jewish Quarter. We instantly hit it off. Alex was like meeting a good friend for lunch. We talked and laughed and ate our way through our tour which included the most delicious pastries, breads, Roman pizza, wine, cheeses, artichokes, gelato and I am sure I missed a few. We were stuffed! Alex was knowledgeable about the history of both the neighborhoods and the food itself. She was warm and personable and I would highly recommend a food tour with her. When we go to a new city, I always book our food tour first. It gives a chance to get to know the city and the food if you have a good guide. Claudio was excellent. Not only did we eat amazing food, but we also got to know the city of Rome. He went out of his way to introduce us to Rome's history by stopping by some amazing locations while feeding us excellent food. Highly recommended if Claudio is your guide.
