This was such a fun experience. There were 3 of us, and we ended up having a private class since others that signed up didn’t show (their loss). Our guide and chef were fantastic, the food was excellent and we had a great conversation and learned a lot about the area. Everyone from the chef to the wait staff to our guide were so friendly and accommodating. If you are considering taking a class, I highly recommend this one!
What a great experience. The class was so much fun. It was refreshing to have a restaurant that is willing to let you take up space and product in their open restaurant to show you technique in making pasta but also give you a small history lesson on the food that you’re making and the influence the surrounding area had on the different recipes.
Very friendly and fun experience! We had a great experience. Lily was outstanding. Would highly recommend.
The best experience we had in Italy!
Lily was such a great guide. She explained everything really well and made our cooking experience very fun. It was about a two hour cooking experience.
We initially had trouble finding our class…the tour guy gave us a bad meet up address. After deep diving we found the correct address. Natallia was waiting and watching for us and made us feel welcome immediately. Chef was fabulous. It felt like we were cooking with family. We made pasta and zucchini blossoms and then helped with the sauces. We then lingered over a lovely dinner.
This experience was exactly what I had hoped. Hands on, wonderful teacher, wonderful company. One unexpected and very pleasant surprise was that the Gourmetaly host actually joined us and visited with us the whole time. She took photos for us, entertained us with jokes and charming company, and then joined us for the meal with interesting anecdotes and trip advice. My partner and I had an incredible vacation in Rome and yet despite all the amazing ruins and vistas this experience was easily in our Top 3 of the week. A memory that I'll never forget.
This was an amazing cooking class! Clelia was an amazing host and Gabriel a fantastic chef! They kept our wine glasses full as we learned how to make the perfect plate of Cacio e Pepe! Gabriel gave encouraging instructions as Clelia translated and took pictures of our progress! We had a really good experience and would love to do it again! Highly recommend!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you had such a great time with Clelia and Gabriel—what a perfect team for an authentic (and fun!) cooking experience. It’s great to know you enjoyed learning how to make Cacio e Pepe (with a full glass of wine in hand!) and that the atmosphere made it even more special. We’d love to welcome you back again soon! In the meantime, don’t forget you can download the recipes from our website and recreate the experience at home.
This was a welcome change from touring museums! Our guide Benedetta did a great job curating the experience for my family of four (teens are 13 & 15). Although I arrived flustered because the experience began 20 min late due to some miscommunication, she maintained such a positive disposition and brought me out of my funk (which is not easy to do). We learned a lot about not only the Jewish ghetto but other aspects of the current life of locals in Rome. The pasta an other dishes were delicious and it was a perfect way to end our evening. If there’s no Italian music playing, ask them to turn it on - a much better ambiance with the delicious wine they serve! Thank you for an authentic Roman experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that the tour offered a refreshing change from traditional museum visits and provided an authentic glimpse into both the history and daily life of Rome. It’s wonderful to know that the food, wine, and atmosphere made your evening so enjoyable—and we love the tip about the Italian music for the perfect ambiance! Creating memorable, flavorful, and cultural experiences for families is exactly what we aim for, and we’re so glad this tour delivered. Come back soon
