Itinerary
See one of Rome's hidden gems - the Jewish Ghetto. Be stunned by a millenary culture.
The Portico of Octavia, an ancient structure in Rome’s Jewish Ghetto, was once a vibrant cultural and social hub during the Roman Empire. Although now in ruins, it retains an aura of its past grandeur, offering visitors a glimpse into the city's rich history.
The Turtle Fountain, nestled in Rome's Jewish Ghetto, is an exquisite example of Renaissance artistry. Built in the late 16th century, it features charming bronze turtles, likely added by Bernini, that appear to climb into the basin, delighting pedestrians with its elegance and whimsical detail.
The Jewish Ghetto is one of the most beautiful areas in the city, full of history and tradition, that has almost entirely remained untouched throughout the centuries. The 1904 Synagogue, the centerpiece of this area, is a magnificent structure with beautiful windows and a decorative facade. Walk through narrow cobblestone streets, experiencing several layers of history, and learn the history of the Jewish community, while you admire the ancient ruins that surround you.
