The guide was factually incorrect on some occasions. Didn’t answer questions when group participants asked. Tried to promote his book at the end for 15,00 euros. The meeting point was not clearly communicated to us, and the guide waited until the tour began to call me. The wrong pin was dropped to me, with the incorrect address. I had to call again to get the exact address. Tickets are 18,00 euros if purchased directly from the venue. We spent 44,00 euros per person (total 88,00 euros) which was worth skipping the lines, but would have preferred a nicer and more knowledge guide.
This tour was spoiled by the heavy accent of our guide. He was personable and helpful, but we only could understand about half of what he said.
I made the mistake of scheduling the tour the day we were leaving, instead of the day before. When we got to the meeting site, the Tour Guide was very helpful and told us of the mistake, so immediately contacted the provider. We were told that the 24 hour cancellation policy didn't apply because we contacted them 5 minutes late (23:55 minutes).
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that there was a mistake with the date of your booking. However, we would like to clarify that the cancellation policy for this tour is 72 hours, not 24 hours. This policy is clearly stated both in the product description and on the booking voucher. The reason for this policy is that, according to Colosseum regulations, tickets must be finalized with participants' names three days before the visit. Once finalized, tickets cannot be modified or cancelled. Additionally, because they are personalized, we are unable to reuse them in the event of a cancellation. While we understand your disappointment, we are required to follow these regulations and apply the cancellation terms consistently to all guests. Kind regards, City Walkers Tours
We didn't want to miss either of these spots. I'm glad we went in the morning as it got so hot and there is no shade. Our tour guide was excellent. Know that you will absolutely need water and wear comfortable shows. You are on your feet for the duration, with nowhere to sit. We would have preferred for this tour to be 1.5 hours as it felt hard to pay attention for such a long time, especially with a teen and with everyone hot and foot weary. It goes for over 2 hours, so be prepared. But these two sites are not to be missed.
The guide was nearly running, and explained very little about anything we were looking at other than to point out that we could return later by ourselves and read/learn more - for the most part I understand because it's just an impossible amount to cover quickly. She clearly had a wealth of knowledge on the subjects, but was moving (physically) so fast that it was hard to relate much of the information being shared with specific objects or locations. We had assumed the speed was owing to the area to be covered, but then the tour finished more than 30' ahead of schedule! To visit sites like these with an expert is of immense value, and we were happy to have gleaned what we could, but even as young, fit travelers that are well accustomed to rough or pressing conditions, this tour felt entirely too rushed to be fully appreciated. We were not upset, just felt we hadn't really gained what we were hoping for.
Lumi was an excellent guide-very knowledgeable, full of information with a good sense of humor. Thoroughly enjoyable tour.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about history and Roman culture. Learned a lot and saw multiple sites within the Roman forum I wouldn’t have explored as well on my own. Beautiful view from Palentine hill. One of my favorite tours in Rome and a must see along with the colosseum.
David was amazing! Humorous, interactive, and very knowledgable! We left the tour before the Colosseum because we had been there before. We had other places scheduled, as we were only in Rome a short time. I highly recommend this tour.
Great guide. He was very informative and had a wonderful sense of humor. The only negative was the time of day we chose, 1:30pm. Go early because there os little shade.
Our guide did alot of talking but never introduced the key attractions, so at the end we had no takeaways and didn't even know where the Roman Forum was located. Really strange since the tour was supposed to end at the Forum
