Sanctuary of Fatima in Portugal, the main Catholic pilgrimage point of Portugal and the largest international destination for religious tourism. Our Lady of Fatima is the patron saint of Portugal and one of the most symbolic figures of the Catholic religion, because she was the saint who appeared in 1917 to the three shepherd children.
The cave has a visitable length of 350 meters and a depth of 45 meters below the entrance quota. The temperature hovers around 18 degrees C, constant throughout the year, which makes it easy for everyone to visit. Ticket not included
On the way to Porto make a stop in Aveiro, which is distinguished by its canals navigated by colorful boats (moliceiros boats), also known as Portuguese Venice.

Hugo was excellent in his planning for the drive from Lisbon to Porto and had mapped out our sightseeing (and lunch!) stops on the way to Porto. Visiting Fatima on the way to Porto was a unique experience - one of the significant Catholic shrines in Europe. We are not Christians but we truly appreciated the history and importance of the site. The Sanctuary of Lady of Fatima is an enormous site with the faithful thronging the place from all over the world. Porto was an awesome experience as well - great restaurants, very unique old town and the river bank was hopping!! We did the river cruise as well. Thanks, Hugo!!!
My sisters and I spent a day visiting Fatima and a few other local sites. We booked Hugo Romano directly through GetYourGuide which saved us some money. Hugo was a great guide. We felt very safe and well taken care of. We appreciated the free WiFi in the car and bottles of water. Hugo communicated with us shortly after booking which was nice. He was on time picking us up and was flexible with the things we wanted to see and do. Overall he was a knowledgeable guide and I would not hesitate to book with him again in the future.
We contacted Hugo with a request for a day tour from Porto to Sintra with a stop at Fatima and Obidos. Hugo was prompt, his car was clean and very comfortable. He met us with a smile and an enthusiastic attitude. He is very funny and a joy to be around. He took us to a fabulous restaurant with an experience we won't soon forget. He guided us through our day with ease. It was so relaxing not having to worry about a thing. We had the most amazing day all thanks to Hugo! We will definitely call upon him again for future trips!

From the very beginning, Hugo was great to work with, and it only got better from there! I gave him the list of places I wanted to stop at on the way from Lisbon to Porto. It was more stops than he usually makes, but he made sure they all happened. And at a price that was more affordable than others. He was a great driver and his car was very comfortable. He had a balance of hands on and hands off guiding, which was perfect for us. We had time to learn from him and time to explore on our own. But what makes Hugo extra special is his thoughtfulness. Before we even arrived. Hugo reached out and asked if we were interested in attending a Benfica vs Real Madrid match that would be the night before he was to take us from Lisbon to Porto. He not only found us great seats, but at a better price than I could have found. That night was one of the highlights of our trip and we have Hugo to thank for us.

My husband and I needed to transfer from Porto to Lisbon and wanted to use our travel day to see more towns along the way. I found Hugo through a recommendation on a Facebook group, and he had one of the best prices around also. He arrived promptly to our Airbnb with a brand new (and very comfortable) vehicle. He has a calm demeanour, yet is witty and often with unsuspecting jokes! We planned to visit Aveiro, Nazare, and Obidos. When I asked to also pop by Costa Nova for a quit photo he was able to fit that into the itinerary as well! Each location we were provided ample time to sight see, take photos and wander around. Hugo provided us great educational information on each location as well. Not to mention - he was always providing treats and snacks for us!! (And gifted us a bottle of their famous cherry liquor). I wouldn't hesitate to book Hugo again for a seamless and curated tour. You'll have a blast with him!
