Description

A walking tour to discover the ancient district of Trastevere. This neighborhood is still considered today one of the authentical original areas of Rome. It became famous for food and wine and today it is a perfect place to understand the development of the city especially in the Middle Ages. Here, in fact, we will visit many important Churches created in those times with incredible decorations and mosaics. We will have the opportunity to visit a XVI Villa too, in order to enjoy the Renaissance work of Raphael, whose lover lived in this district. We can consider this district of Rome a Museum at the open air. Some of the highlights of this Tour: - Villa Farnesina - Santa Maria in Trastevere - Walking throught the characteristic roads of the district - Santa Cecilia in Trastevere - Crypt of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere - Marble statues of Roman and Greek Gods

The villa ended up being...

The villa ended up being closed even though our guide Vincenzo Spina called them the day before. He offered to still take us around the neighborhood and arranged viator to refund for the tour. For 2 hours he talked showed us everything. He was full of facts, figures and fun stories. It would have been nice to see the villa but I thourghly enjoyed our Trastevere walk.

Amazing Tour Bar None

This is a private tour you cannot miss! Our guide was engaging, informative, energetic, and friendly. He is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge and clearly loves what he does. We learned so much that we would never have found out on our own. Best of all... the 3 hour tour felt like 5 minutes. Once he starts telling you stories and information, you are hooked wanting more. We highly recommend!

Bringing museums to life

Vincenzo has the rare gift of knowing how to dose information and entertainment, with the ability to engage the audience in a nice, but always polite way. The result is a very pleasant journey into the place through details that tell us who made it born and lived. A way to fix in visitors anecdotes and details that would commonly be lost and make each visit unique.

Review for Vincent – The Best Tour Guide!

We had the absolute best experience with Vincent as our tour guide! From start to finish, he was incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging, making every moment of our tour both educational and entertaining. His passion for what he does is truly contagious, and he went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. Not only was he personable and kind, but he also made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire time. As a wonderful bonus, he surprised us with a thoughtful parting gift, which was such a special touch! If you’re looking for a top-tier guide who brings history and culture to life, Vincent is the one to book. 10/10 recommend!

A Superb Tour!!

Our time with Vincenzo - (Rome Guides)was thoroughly enjoyable. I cannot overstate how enthusiastic and knowledgeable Vincenzo is, our tour was three hours and every minute was a pleasure, I have never met a guide who is so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun. Vincenzo brought everything to life with his explanations about the palaces, paintings people and artists that left us these priceless treasures. Without a doubt we would make sure that he was our guide when we (hopefully) visit Rome again.

Energetic and Captivating

Our guide, Vincenzo, was animated, knowledgeable, and fun! He was genuinely interested in making sure we had a great tour. I wouldn't say I am an art history buff at all, but after hearing about the artists of Rome, he may have converted me! The places we visited were gorgeous and full of history that we would never understand going on our own. Grateful for the stories and passion Vincenzo offered! Loved the special gift at the end. Thank you!

Trastevere

We are a couple with a little girl of almost two years who, however, has always slept during the visit. Together with Vincenzo we took a tour of Trastevere. Whenever we come to Rome we always try to schedule a tour with Rome Guides because we are in love with their passion, kindness and great knowledge. Vincenzo was a magnificent guide, competent and very attentive to our needs. He told us the secrets of the streets and churches of this neighborhood and even memorized a poem by Belli! Already we would like to return to Rome hoping to be able to organize a new tour with him!

Fascinating, entertaining, thoroughly enjoyable

Our guide Vincenzo Spina was an amazing storyteller who brought to life the characters and artwork of Villa Farnesina and the two beautiful churches, the basilica of Santa Maria Trastevere and ancient, later Baroque church of Santa Cecelia. Full of color and description, we were mesmerized for the 3+ hours. He had great restaurant recommendations, too! Highly recommend!!!

Unique experience! That's great!

We requested a personalized tour and Vincenzo turned out to be a guarantee. A walk through Trastevere to discover the most hidden secrets. Vincenzo involves you in the tour in a unique way! It's funny, clear, precise and intrigues you throughout. It is not the first tour I have done and as a Roman I always get to know new things thanks to Vincenzo. Roma Guides is definitely to choose for visits and tours in Rome. Highly Recommendation!
