Private Tour: Pompeii Ruins from Rome in a Day

We highly recommend this tour. Our driver, Andrea (Andy) was a delight. Very personable. Stopped on the way for espresso. Brought us to a restaurant for authentic Napoli pizza after the tour. Our guide, Erica was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Andy and Erica made the day memorable.

Gino the tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We saw as much as we could, but a few hours is not enough time at the archeological site. They discover new things there every day. Andy the driver was terrific. He kept us informed, took us to nice rest stops, and took us to a wonderful place for lunch after the tour.

Margarita was an excellent tour guide and really explained all the sites very clearly. She brought Pompeii to life for us. Daniele was a terrific driver. We highly recommend both of them! It was an expensive day but absolutely worth it!

Ivano, our professional driver and our Pompeii guide Enza were simply fantastic! There were so welcoming and friendly, and so full of knowledge. Enza took us back in time sharing the stories and lives of those living in Pompeii. She was patient as we asked questions and took lots of photos. Pace was perfect. Ivano was so accommodating and provided us safe travels and eating tips! The six passenger SUV was clean and comfortable. We are a family with two older children who wanted a stress free day trip form Rome to Pompeii. I looked at bus tours and the train and decided that Aim Linos was going to be the easiest and most time effective way to fit this day into our time in Italy. I didn’t want to be out for 13 hours on a tour bus or navigate the transfers involved in the train trip. It did cost a little more than the other options, but this was our splurge and was an enjoyable and easy day for us. We were picked up by our driver Livio at 7.30 at our apartment. Livio was friendly and helpful with information. The car was clean and comfortable and we felt safe with Livio. We took some snacks with us in the car as we didn’t want to waste time looking for something to eat in Pompeii. We arrived at Pompeii before big crowds and did a 2 hour private tour with Francesca. Given our time constraints and attention span of young teenagers, this was a great way to see all the main points around Pompeii. The weather was perfect. I had been years ago in June and the heat can be energy sapping, so mid September was perfect for us. Francesca made it really interesting, so we could appreciate what we were seeing. When we finished, Livio met us near the exit and took us to a nearby cafe to grab a coffee and drinks before we made our way back to Rome. He did offer to take us to restaurant, but we weren’t that hungry and the quick stop suited us. We were dropped back in Rome at our accomodation around 3pm and made our way to a great restaurant in our street, not far from Piazza Navona, for an early dinner. We had a fantastic day that couldn’t have been made easier. Thanks Livio!

This was a private tour of the ruins for two hours. I was driven from Rome to Pompeii for the tour. Both the driver and the tour guide were wonderful. The drive was made pleasant by the young man who wanted to improve his English by chatting w/ an American. I was happy to do this. The tour guide started working as a tour guide in March, but she was thorough and professional. I got a great visit and lots of good information. This was not a cheap undertaking but it was worth every penny.

The driver picked us up at the door of our AirBNB in Rome. We rode in style right to the entrance to the ruins where we were met by our guide, Laura. She was so friendly and informative. The ruins at Pompeii are definitely a must see. It was fascinating to learn about a civilization that was so advanced and went through this tragedy. After the visit to the ruins, we were taken to a local restaurant for lunch. It was so good. Then we napped in the car and arrived back at our doorstep in Rome in our nice comfortable van. Great trip!
