Begin your journey at Hagia Sophia, an awe-inspiring testament to both Byzantine and Ottoman heritage. Our tour includes a visit to the historic Sultanahmet Square, where we spend about 45 minutes. I booked a DAY tour of all the major sites in Istanbul. [See below] It was supposed to start at noon. When no one came, I called the number and the man said that he thought I had booked a NIGHT club tour. That would have been impossible with visits to Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, the Cistern, etc. I asked if he were free; he said he had other customers. in fairness, he returned the money, but we were without a tour. We went on our own which was okay, but we were without a guide.
