We will pick you up at your hotel/Airbnb to head to towards the town of Fátima in our comfortable air conditioned vehicle. Fatima a once unknown traditional village, became an important pilgrimage site when the famous threes shepherds witnessed the apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1917. Visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary and Basilica of the holy Trinity which both attract millions of Catholic Pilgrims every year.
Head towards Nazaré, home to the biggest waves in the world! We will stop for a nice lunch at the beach and then continue to admire this quaint fishing town famous for its fishing culture and its fish market. The village offers an interesting insight into local life, with lots of local cafes and restaurants to choose from.
We will have a short stop at the Nazaré cliffs to admire the wounder-full views from the top. If the weather conditions are on our side you will be able to see the biggest waves in the world, surfed my professional surfers from all over the world.
Óbidos is a town that was once the wedding present to a Queen, the preserved medieval town of Óbidos lying 80 km north of Lisbon is without doubt one of Portugal's most interesting walled settlements. This town brings out wonders as you discover it while walking through its hidden corners and high walled gardens. You can appreciate the old medina area, the gothic and the Renaissance and baroque architecture.

We booked a private tour to Fatima, Batalha and Óbidos with Picta Travel and had a wonderful experience. It all started with back and forth communication through WhatsApp so that what we wanted were incorporated into the itinerary. Response was amazingly fast. They made good suggestions on how to make the best out of the day and even suggested and booked the restaurant of our choice for dinner after the tour. The car was clean and comfortable. Credit should go to the tour guide ( cum driver ) Marta who was very friendly, helpful and flexible. Her profound knowledge about the places we visited, her talent in story-telling, and above all, her enthusiasm, had made our visit so interesting and enjoyable. She picked the restaurant at Batalha for our lunch and recommended to us the local specialties. It turned out to be the best roasted pork we had in this journey. She tried her best to accommodate our ad hoc requests and adjusted the visit schedule accordingly. As our restaurant booking was for 7 p.m., she actually extended our time in Óbidos so that we would not be too early when we returned to Lisbon for dinner. Overall speaking, Picta Travel and their staff are very professional, thorough and caring. They put the customers first and provide excellent services. I would highly recommend them to those who value personal attention, need immersive experience and want to rest assured that they are in good hands.

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour in Sintra. The Quinta da Regaleira with the Intention Well was amazing! We then visited a beautiful coastal fishing village and had one of the best lunches during our trip. After lunch was the Pena Palace that was filled with so much history. Ines was the perfect guide. Her passion for history and art truly ensured the best experience! Highly recommend.

My family and I had a great time today touring Tomar, Nazaré and Óbidos. This was the 2nd tour we did this week with Picta Travel and like the first, it did not disappoint! I like that you can customize your day and pick the towns you want to see. Our guide, Matheus, was definitely one of the highlights of the day. In addition to being a great guide, he is easy to talk to and we shared a lot of laughs throughout the day. I would definitely book another tour with him next time we are in Lisbon!
We spent a full 8-hour day touring Fátima, Nazaré, and Óbidos with Marta, and it was such a wonderful experience. Even though the weather was rainy, it didn’t slow us down at all—we actually lucked out, because every time the heavy rain came, we happened to be in the car! Marta was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history and context throughout the day. She was also very kind, easy to talk to, and made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Thank you, Marta, for a fantastic day of exploring! My friend and I wanted to visit some very specific towns in Portugal. We booked a private tour to Aviero and Obidos. Our driver/guide was Joao Fernandes who was fabulous. He gave us all kinds of information along the drive. Once we were in Aviero he treated us to a local delicacy Ovo mole. Since it was raining we didn't want to walk around too much nor take the gondola ride. Joao made lunch reservations at a local spot where we had a lively teadional lunch. Then we drove to Obidos which is a wonderful walled city. In our opinion this is a must see. You can see what a real walled city was like in pre-medieval times. He told some stories about the city which were so interesting. I won't share them here. You'll have to there yourself to hear them
Our tour with Joao Fernandes was an absolute delight. He is pleasant, well-mannered, and genuinely attentive to what his guests hope to experience. After listening to what we wanted to see and do, he tailored the day beautifully. He shared so many fascinating insights that were completely new to both of us, and his enthusiasm made every stop more enjoyable. Even with the rain coming down, we had a wonderful time. I would happily recommend this tour to anyone. It was fantastic from start to finish.
10/31/2025. My tour consisted of three locations, Fatima, Batalha and Obidos. Gabriela was my guide. The locations were all impressive to visit, but Gabriela really made them come to life! Her explanations between history, religion, culture and including myth versus fact really made me appreciate how these locations play a big part of Portugal. As a tour guide she was organized, punctual, open to questions and very engaging. I very much appreciate that she took her time with the tour because I love to learn about history. She made sure my mother was comfortable and happy with the pace of the tour as well. Overall this is a great tour for value, since its private it caters to your own timetable and desires of what to visit making it very flexible. I have no regrets choosing this company and very impressed with the guide.
The communication with tour company great. Gabby our tour guide was exceptional and did a great job giving us history of area. Fátima and Nazare beautiful. We had amazing lunch in Nazare. Unfortunately we had flat tire and did not get to tour Obidos. The tour company arranged transportation at their expense back to our hotel. Tour company made sure we got back safely and gave adjustment to tour cost.
