The ruined Carmo Convent is one of Lisbon's most hauntingly beautiful sights. It was its greatest medieval building, but stands as a reminder of the devastating earthquake of 1755 that destroyed most of the city. Its roof collapsed on the congregation as it was attending Mass on that All saints’ Day, and was never rebuilt, but the Gothic arches still stand. Most of the architecture dates back to the 1300s, but Manueline (Portuguese Gothic) windows and other details were added later, in the 16th and 18th centuries.

Tuk Tuk in Lisbon

Ana, our guide, picked up six of us at our hotel on time. She asked us what we had already seen in Lisbon and what we were interested in. She tailored our tour and was very informative and fun to listen to. She made sure we stopped to see important sites, gave us time for photos and bathroom breaks. The only suggestion is that it would have been a little better if Ana had a microphone since it was sometimes hard to hear her speak over the city noise and bumpy roads. All in all, it was a great day filled with lots of information and laughs…and she was a very careful driver!! Highly recommend booking this tour!

Go on a tuk tuk tour with Vini!!!

We started our days in Lisbon with a tuk tuk tour with Vini. It was such a pleasure hearing about the history of Lisbon from Vini. I definitely walked away knowing a lot about the history of the great city of Lisboa. Vini took us all around Lisboa - Chiado, Alfama, Belem and more! We tasted the wonderful pastel de belem while with Vini and they were delicious! Vini was a joy to spend time with and offered to take our pictures often (and did a great job!) The tuk tuk tour was a lot of fun and saved our legs from many hills!

Best Way to See Lisbon in 4 Hours – Diego Was Incredible

We did the Private 4-Hour Tuk Tuk Tour: Alfama, Belém & Lisbon’s Hidden Gems and it was the ideal way to experience Lisbon for the first time. The itinerary covered so much — the winding alleys of Alfama, the majestic sights of Belém, river views and charming tucked-away corners — all in one afternoon. It gave us a wonderful mix of history, culture, panoramic views, and local flavor. But the star of our experience was Diego, our guide. He was phenomenal in every way. He knows Lisbon inside and out and has a way of sharing stories that makes history feel alive. He pointed out details we would never have noticed on our own, answered all of our questions (no matter how random!), and was warm, patient, and fun. He also tailored the tour to our interests, so it felt personal rather than generic. If you’re visiting Lisbon for the first time and want to really see the city — not just check off the big landmarks but feel its soul — this tour is perfect. And if Diego is your guide, you’re in the best hands. 5 stars, no hesitation.

Great tuk tuk tour!

This tuk tuk tour is the way to get around Lisbon! We covered so much territory and saw so much. Lisbon is very hilly and using the tuk tuk is a smart idea! Our driver was very friendly and gave us a lot of information through out the tour. I would highly recommend this tour!
