A great afternoon at Durak homestead and on the water. Our guide Chris knows every inch of this waterway. He showed us so much wildlife including birds nests and other habitats, and gave lots of information about the history of the area , its ecosystem and development including using a map which was really helpful. He also timed things perfectly for us to get sunset photos. Thanks Chris.
Jeff our boat driver and guide was fabulous - local and knowledgable. The tour itself was fabulous seeing amazing scenery, incredible sunset and reflections on the river and lots of wildlife - crocs and birds and bats! Great seeing the dam wall too.
Great boat captain Jeff was very knowledgeable and gave a smooth ride....would recommend this to anybody that asked about it.
Great experience. Our guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable.
I’ve done tours before. I once paid for a “wildlife cruise” where the highlight was a regular duck, described like it owed the guide money. So my expectations for JJJ Boat Tours were in not high. Then Jeff turned up. Jeff is one of the original owners — not some backpacker handed a laminated fact sheet this morning. He’s clearly been staring at this river since before some of the crocodiles were born. Flora, fauna, history, seasons — the man knows it all, and delivers it like he still can’t believe he gets paid to do this. The Kimberley scenery is, annoyingly, stunning on its own. But it’s next level once someone who actually knows what they’re talking about starts narrating it. The hours flew by. I learned more about animal behaviour, geology and fauna than I know about my own cardiovascular system. Verdict: book this tour. Demand Jeff specifically. Five stars for the tour, five for the region but most of all 5+ stars for Jeff and his knowledge and delivery.
A fantastic day on the river. The trip up to the Argyle Dam against the current was exciting. Lots of wildlife to see on the way back to Kununurra. Chris, the captain/guide, was great at finding and pointing out all the different birds and finding crocks to photograph. Great afternoon tea at a secluded spot with scones, muffins, cold drinks, tea and coffee. The day finished with a top-end sunset. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
My partner & I had an amazing day travelling up & down the Ord River. Our host Chris was sensational, his knowledge was brilliant & he taught us so much on the day. He was also very amusing the whole day he spent guiding us along the ord, we both really appreciated his efforts. I’m sure all others on the cruise also enjoyed themselves.
Family came on the tour, we were picked up promptly. We got great seats and had fun, lots of knowledge of local wildlife. Saw lots of crocs, bats, birds. Tea break got plenty of food making sure no one missed out. Great value. Kids are 11 & 7, and even though it was half day tour they weren’t at all bored. 1130am to 6pm
The commentary and service was excellent.
I just wanted to take a moment to thank Alessia and Will for taking such great care of us. They gave us the best service we’ve ever received. They’re both amazing, genuinely passionate about what they do, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. They truly made our experience special, and we really appreciated everything they did.
