A lovely way to spend a day cruising up the Ord River. Stunning scenery with a great lunch included. Having done this tour twice before, we found our guide/skipper, somewhat disappointing this time. A top guide should also be entertaining and interesting.
Trevor the skipper did a great job but had to look after 30 guests and organise lunch. He needed help. He got stressed and that relaid to us.
My partner booked this cruise, and I wasn't expecting anything more than a scenic boat trip. I couldn't have been more wrong. Brad was an exceptional skipper. His humour, passion and knowledge brought the Ord to life. Rather than just pointing out the sights, he made us feel like we were actually living the story of the Ord. The mix of wildlife, First Nations history, farming and the river's remarkable past all came together beautifully. The only downside was the transport. Spending so much time on hotel pickups before reaching the river took away from the excitement and waste of the day. Once we were on the water, though, it was one of the highlights of our Kimberley holiday.
I joined this cruise as part of our APT tour without any expectations expecting it to be a filler. How wrong I was, it was a lovely relaxing day with some beautiful scenery at minimal effort. The boat slowed so that we could view various birds, freshwater crocodiles and even a Flying Fox colony. We boarded the boat in Kununurra and finished at Lake Argyle stopping for a delicious lunch at a pretty spot with a small waterfall along the way. After leaving the boat we were picked up by a bus that stopped for a view of Lake Argyle and also at Argyle Homestead before driving back to Kununurra and dropping us off at our accommodation.
From start to finish our guide Brad kept us entertained with his humour, knowledge and stories regarding the Ord River. We stopped for delicious lunch at a serene riverside camp-site. The cruise really delivers and I highly recommend it
This tour checked every box! from pickup to drop off. Informative, friendly, stunning back drop, comfortable, fun, fantastic lunch and wildlife. We can highly recommend this as a must do when visiting Kununurra.
This was a fabulous tour. Our captain/guide, Will, was very knowledgeable and lots of fun too. The lunch was unexpectedly top rate. Would recommend this tour.
Pickup was slightly delayed due to full numbers- told 9am, pickup 9.25am. Boat was comfortable but due to speeds and wind was uncomfortable at times - suggest scarf for women to keep hair contained! Trevor was the skipper and guide- funny, informative. Could know more about indigenous people of the area and be careful with terms used. Overall a wonderful experience with incredible scenery and generous lunch
It was a great experience. Very relaxing, very informative and a memorable photo at every bend in the river. Would recommend to anyone.
It was fantastic from the driver (Ryan) who picked us up from in front of our accommodation to Trevor (skipper) of the boat. The knowledge that Trevor and Ryan had on the Ord and Lake Argyle was second to none. Lunch was amazing in an incredible site. Although I feel a second person to assist with unloading is a must. The boat trip was absolutely fantastic with awesome views. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Kimberley region.
