Free visit to the historic center of Matera where there are two neighborhoods called "Sassi", these are valuable rock complexes, inhabited since the dawn of prehistoric civilization, houses dug into the limestone rock. The "Sassi" became a World Heritage Site in 1993. An ideal place as a film set, it hosted the filming of the famous film "The Passion of the Christ" starring Mel Gibson, a world-famous actor.

Very nice time with a friendly guide and driver. Matera is an absolute must see and it's not easily accessible by train or bus from Tarento, so this tour was perfect. They even got me pane di Matera and went the extra mile to make sure I had a good time.
