Meet your group in central Lisbon at Praça dos Restauradores, the starting point of the day. After check-in, leave the city behind and travel toward the green hills of Sintra.
Discover the Romantic dream of Pena Palace through its gardens, viewpoints, and exterior beauty. Created under King Ferdinand II from the ruins of an old monastery, Pena became one of Portugal’s greatest symbols of 19th-century Romanticism. Walk through Pena Park, an 85-hectare landscape of winding paths, exotic trees, lakes, fountains, decorative details, and surprise viewpoints. The palace interior is not included, but the visit reveals the magical world that surrounds it.

Part of the UNESCO-listed Cultural Landscape, this palace and park combine exotic gardens, delicate architectural details, and peaceful paths shaped by 19th-century Romantic taste. Once transformed by Sir Francis Cook, Monserrate feels like a hidden botanical palace, where plants from around the world surround one of Sintra’s most graceful monuments.
Enjoy free time in the charming old town of Sintra, where the UNESCO-listed landscape becomes more human and local. Walk through cobbled lanes, see pastel façades, stop for lunch, try traditional pastries, or admire the town’s mountain setting. Look out for the National Palace of Sintra, famous for its two large white chimneys, one of the most recognizable symbols of the historic center.
Explore Sintra’s mysterious side at Quinta da Regaleira, an estate built for António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, known as “Monteiro the Millionaire.” The gardens are filled with symbolic towers, grottoes, tunnels, caves, fountains, and secret paths. Descend the famous Initiation Well, a deep spiral structure that was not built for water, but for symbolism and atmosphere. At the bottom, underground tunnels continue the experience, turning the visit into one of Sintra’s most memorable adventures.
Feel the raw Atlantic power at Boca do Inferno, the famous “Mouth of Hell.” Waves crash through a sea-carved rock opening, creating sound, spray, and a dramatic coastal scene that contrasts beautifully with Sintra’s palaces and gardens.

We visited Sintra, Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Boca do Inferno, and Cascais, and every single stop was absolutely worth it. My favorite was definitely Quinta da Regaleira – it felt like stepping into a real-life fairy tale. If you're thinking about skipping it, don't! I almost didn't book it, but the guides went above and beyond to arrange everything for me at the very last minute. I'm so grateful because it ended up being the highlight of the entire trip. The guides Deriam, Ella and Diana were fantastic. They listened to everyone's wishes and requests and did everything they could to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. Their kindness and flexibility really made a difference. The walk up to Pena Palace is quite steep, so I wouldn't recommend it for people with limited mobility. However, the guides made sure to take regular breaks after every steep section and always waited until everyone had caught up, so no one felt rushed. The whole day was perfectly organized, and we had enough time at every location without feeling stressed. It was truly a perfect day, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal!
