Lisbon Small-Group Food Tour with 18 Tastings in Alfama District

Description
Take part in the only plastic-free Food Tour to support family-restaurants in Alfama. With unique products, in limited series, handmade, homemade, or even dishes that have won culinary competitions! *** Hi I’m Ruthy! If you book my tour you may meet me, my husband Marcio or my friends Francisco, João, Héloïse,! :-) I’m 29 and I’m a real foodie. I live in Lisbon & I'm in love with the city, its culture & its gastronomy. That’s why I’ve founded my very own 18-tastings food experience company here, called Treasures of Lisboa. I want to take you off the beaten paths, in Lisbon’s most narrow streets, to taste the best Portuguese dishes & drinks in authentic places. Join the fun! Come with me and taste the best of Lisbon! Wine, charcuterie, typical pastries and many other gastronomic pearls will ensure you take in authentic and picturesque Portugal. Get lost in a labyrinth of winding alleys, full of hidden treasures. Let yourself be transported by the soft light of Alfama and stroll through aromas and flavors that will touch all your senses. Here, gastronomy is, in its richness and authenticity, a hymn to the spirit of Lisbon. OUR COMMITMENT IS ALSO SOCIAL: - No plastic tour: we’re the 1st ones in Lisbon to have banished all kind of plastic from our experience. - We respect local people: no more than 12 persons on our tour! We’re integrated in the local community: the grannies of Alfama love us ;-) - We’re currently establishing a partnership with Re-food a community that works to eliminate food waste and hunger in each neighborhood of Lisbon. More info coming soon! We’re proud to be the first Portuguese gastronomic tour of Alfama but we’re more than just a food tour, come and see by yourself.

Itinerary
Located in the city-center & known as the historic cradle of Lisbon, the district of Alfama has kept its antiquated charm. Alfama combines the cuisine of the land and the sea. Stopping at some unique places, I will show you how to live like a real local during this walking gourmet experience! The restaurants we visit are very different one from the other, so after my experience you'll have a great overview of what our food scene is like nowadays!
Our meeting point is one the most beautiful in all of Lisbon!
Discover the rich history of Alfama through historical anecdotes and monuments like the famous Chafariz d'El Rei.
One of Lisbon's best kept secret that only few persons know of.

This tour was amazing! The guide was knowledgeable, kind, relaxed, and fun. We got to try so many dishes and drinks. Even our pickier eaters found dishes they loved.
This tour and company was fantastic all around. We had an issue getting back late from a different tour and Ruthy adjusted things for us to accommodate our late arrival. She made it very easy on us to arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the experience. Our guide, Francisco, was incredible - knowledgeable, personable, and fun! The tastes of Portugal were phenomenal. Francisco provided great information and thoughtfully answered questions. We had a dairy-free person in our group and they accommodated her very well. She was very happy with the goats and sheep’s cheeses and really didn’t miss out on any tastings. We definitely left full and happy! There is so much food that I can’t imagine anyone leaving hungry. I would fully recommend this tour. Ruthy and Francisco are helpful and make the experience so worth while! 5 stars!
This food tour was a great exposure to local food and history. The pace and variety of food/drinks were just right. Our guide Raquel was fun and extremely knowledgeable.
Easily the best food tour we have ever had. We love to use food tours in most new cities we visited as a way to know the history and food and culture and talk to other travelers. Bianca is very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, caring and she is fun! Her English is great, that's a plus too. She talked with everyone of us, and remembered our names. She is passionate about local and Portugal history and tales and made tastings fun. She also encouraged all of us to talk with each other, as a result we had a fun group of mates. Solid 5 stars.
We had a great tour with Francisco. He loves Portugal. He loves the food and the culture and his enthusiasm was infectious. The variety of foods and beverages were delightful. The walk through the Alfama neighborhood was very special; it’s one of the oldest areas of the city. Francisco was open to discussing anything about which we were curious, food-related or beyond. We can highly recommend this food tour.
Francisco was GREAT… very knowledgeable and a wonderful host. Food was plentiful and good. Loved the Alfama food tour
