We were picked up right on time at our hotel by our guide, Thiago. Every site he took us to was amazing and made extra meaningful with the addition of his extensive knowledge of the history of the area. We felt that the day gave us a great overview of Lisbon and all its charms. We also enjoyed the origin story of the famous custard tart. There is no doubt that our guide’s professionalism and knowledge were key to our enjoyment of the day. He was very pleasant and attentive to each guests needs and made sure everyone had a great day. Thank you Thiago, hope to see you again when we return to Portugal! We highly recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky enough to have a guide like Thiago!
Great overview of the history of Lisbon. Our guide was a wonderful historian with solid English. She was able to explain the city. She drove and explained at the same time. It is an overview of the city not much time to go into the each and every sight. But good job - the tour was as advertised
The experience was very relaxed and friendly. It covers the best sights and was very enjoyable. A good experience overall
There was not that many interesting thing to see in Lisbon or at least to my interest. Paul, our guide was 5 star He is very knowledgeable about the city and shared it. He was not worried about time. He wanted to show us a point of interest he thought was worthwhile, that extended our trip time. It was worth the time.
Simon was enthusiastic and entertaining. He provided a lot of information in a pleasant, appropriately humorous manner. Unlike another guide, he was easily understandable. Would definitely commend to others.
The morning part of the tour was a bit difficult due to major traffic & congestion in the narrow, steep streets of Lisbon due to a national holiday. Our driver Paul did his best to get to the points of interest in difficult circumstances. The afternoon was much more pleasant and relaxed and we enjoyed some beautiful churches, monuments, and other historic places. Most were viewed from the outside though and did not get to go inside except for a few churches. It was a good overview of the city
You are guided around the city. On a highlights tour of the city. Well organized. We would definitely recommend.
Our guide NuNu was amazing. Very proud of his Portuguese culture and extremely animated. He went over the tour time, but it seemed like the time went so fast. A pleasure spending the day with him.
Thanks, Christine! Nuno is a true enthusiast! His energy and funniness are contagious! We love to have him with us. Lisbon is filled with History everywhere. We hope the tour was a good overview for your stay, and that you learned our History in a relaxed but enriching way! You're welcome back anytime!!!
If they’re looking to discover Lisbon in a day, start here! Tiago was exceptionally knowledgeable, patient and thorough. Warm and friendly, he took us around Lisbon with excitement in his heart.
Hi, Margarida! Thanks for the feedback! That's exactly what we want with this tour: to give a great overview of the city in just one day. Of course, some attractions might deserve a second visit on your own, but this tour will provide the essentials for planning the rest of your stay (and show you the layout of the city). Tiago...Tiago is a charming person, an amazing guide and a good friend! We're so glad to have him with us. Hope to see you back!
Disappointed as Nuno stopped in so many unwanted location just to show the city from top from 5 points. Gave very less time to see the Lisbon Cathedral properly but kind enough to show the St. Anthony's birth place. Very abrupt explanation. All places are unworthy to stop. Especially an altar with piece of bricks and water popping out from it. So ugly structure. The second last stop was so worthless that it was fill with weed seller, junkies and so much suspicious activity going on. He should understand he cant make tourist stop at such risky place. Very much time wasted. Nuno took us to some meaningless flea market which actually is a garage item sells, second hand used products. Just because Nuno wants to smoke frequently he makes us stopped wherever he wanted like garage sell market and some high location full of addicted people around. Small suggestion to make this trip meaningful please let's tourist enjoy the Castle and Cathidral. Else its just a bumpy ride with meaningless sightseeing. One should book big bus or city sightseeing for more worthy time spend and awareness about Lisbon. Nuno was so incompetent that he doesn't know the famous CM symbol of great modern theater is actually from the Antonio's castle from Sintra near Pena palace. When I asked this CM or MC symbol from the Antonio's house where you can find the swirling/round staircase and his family built this (as I came to know this from my previous days trip with some different Trip company and the guide was very knowledgeable unlike Nuno). But Nuno said he cant have all information about everything of Lisbon eminent places . Which seems he is not at all a well aware tour guide. Very disappointed
Dear Vaibhavi: We're sad you had a less positive experience in out Lisbon tour. Regarding the stops, this tour is designed to show you some of the best views over Lisbon. It's even called (in our website) Lisbon View. We're sorry that some areas were populated by less positive locals, but we can assure you were never in any kind of danger. The Flea Market is usually a very nice stop for most people. It's much more than a simple garage sale. However, we understand that some persons may like it less. It's a matter of cultural differences and preferences. It is part of our tour on Tuesdays and Saturdays, tough, and we'll continue to stop for a quick visit and look around. During the day, Nuno explained the history of Lisbon from Antiquity to Modern Ages. It's hard to share more. As for the CM or MC symbol in Trindade Theatre you refer, I'm sorry to tell you that it has no relation whatsoever with Regaleira (Antonio's House). It's just a basic, meaningless monogram of the theatre from 1925. Nuno didn't had to know that while driving and hardly taking a good look at it. Maybe it was that other guide that misled you. It is good not to confuse things in History. As for the Cathedral, the stop there was long enough to visit St. Anthony's church too, which isn't part of the tour. Unfortunately, we can't spend much time in every stop, as this is a tour for an overview of the city, showing you all the main attractions, which you can then visit on your own in more details later, having the context already. Anyway, we're deeply sorry you're disappointed. Maybe big buses are the best option for some people. This is an intimate, small group tour that we intend to be a great introduction to the city and its History.
