Murat led an extraordinary tour through Kadikoy. What struck me most was not just the depth of his knowledge about the food and the history, but the way he connected those details to the rhythm of everyday life in Istanbul. Every stop had intention, every taste carried a story. It was insightful, beautifully paced, and left me with a deeper appreciation for the city. Truly exceptional.
Our three-day stay in Istanbul started with this great tour. A great way to start our first stay in Istanbul. Sabih drove with us to the Asian part of the city and there were great delicacies besides lots of inside information about the city. All our questions were answered in very good German.
We loved our guide. Had we not booked this food tour we wouldn't have gone to the Asian side of Turkey and that would have been a loss for us. It was vibrant and fun. We tried many different food items and enjoyed the tour immensely.
Thank you to Jem for waiting for us when we were running late. I had emailed the company through Tripadvisor two hours prior to the start time and the company emailed me when we were running late. It was only when the tour guide rang me himself that we were able to request they wait for us and arrange a different meeting place. We were in a taxi stuck in terrible Istanbul traffic. We were 45 minutes late. Ee had no idea where we were. Tour Guide Jem spoke to our taxi driver directly and we were able to meet up with the tour. The tour guide Jem was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared so much information about Turkey and it's foods. The food was wonderful. Thank you Jem for a great tour.
thank you for joining our tour and we're glad to hear that we met your expectations. HOpe to see you on our other tours in the future. Kind regards
We spent a nice evening on the Asian side of Turkey and we crossed by ferry! We now can say we have been in Asia! It was our first ever food tour and we didn't know what to expect and it was a great experience. We've got to know about local customs, history, food and the best of all... we were able to enjoy it all. The ice cream made with Goat Milk and Orchids were the best!!!! Our tour guide from Walks in Istanbul was Çetin who is very knowledgeable and sensible to the group needs.
Excellent food tour to a very nice area in Asian part of Istanbul. Our guide was Chetin, he was very nice and gave great information on everything we ate and also on every other topic we asked about. We have done food tours in a lot of cities and this is one of the good ones.
We've had a total blast with Cetin our expert tour guide on this night!!! He took us through so many iconic Istanbul street food joints and helped us discover a whole amazing world of Turkish cuisine that we would never have dared to try ourselves. All this was accompanied by tons of stories, anecdotes, and lore from his very interesting personal background, and our whole team had lots of fun trying out new things and selecting favorites. Definitely the top highlight of our team outing in Istanbul! Highly recommended!!!
The tour guide was friendly and gave a lot of background and historical information during the tour. The area also had a lot to offer. Would definitely do it again!
I happened upon this tour while researching activities at 4 am while jet lagged (from NYC), and booked it for the very same day. I am so glad I did because this was an outstanding experience. Our guide, Cetin, was informative, funny, and took us to what seemed like an endless number of places to try local fare. From sit down restaurants to street kiosks, we tried it all (meats, fish, vegetables, desserts, and even some pickled plums!). The weather was very rainy due to winter time and our guide tried to make us as comfortable as possible allowing us more time indoors. I would not have known what to order let alone have been able to find all of the restaurants he took us to. This was a highlight of our trip in Istanbul. The best part? No traveler's sickness afterward despite the large range of foods we sampled. Last tip, we booked this tour towards the beginning of our trip which turned out great because we were able to get a crash course in local dishes. Therefore, for the rest of our trip we knew what to order again and what to skip.
Hi Danielle, Thank you for your feedback, we do appreciate your time. It is very important for us and shared it with Chetin already. He is a true gem and we are very lucky to have him with us in Istanbul. Our Kadikoy food tour is ever popular with its great setting, the ferry ride over the Bosphorus and the fantastic food samplings of the famous Turkish cuisine. I am very happy you feel that you made the correct choice. We look forward to hosting you on other Walks In Istanbul tour soon! Kind Regards, Arzu
