Kristi helped me learn and experience all the yummy food and cultural history of NOLA.I had a great time!! Was very educational and yummy
This foodie tour was a great choice and a must do for anyone wanting to experience the food/cuisine that New Orleans is famous for. Our tour guide Kristi was charming friendly and so knowledgeable about the history of the city and how it related to the food. She also drew on her personal experience to select the best places that offered a taste of gumbo, red beans and rice, beignets, pralines, and muffulettas (Italian sandwiches). Overall my family and I really enjoyed the experience so much so that we actually revisited the Gumbo Shop for lunch and bought pralines at the Southern Candymakers a few days later.
Andre was a great tour guide. He provided a lot of historical information that helped us understand how different cultures came together in the food that we sampled. He took us to some great restaurants and provided some helpful tips on other places to visit and check out.
Lovely experience. Great food great information. Really knows where to go and the history behind everything.
It was awesome. More than just a food tour, a lot of history and stories behind it!
Our group of four (two couples) was diverse and all found commonalities to the dishes in some way. Andre was personable, engaging and curious about everyone. Him being a trained chef added to his knowledge. He was able to break down the foods origins which paint a broad depiction of New Orleans’ melting pot of cultures leading to present day. He guided us from place to place and added historical information along the way. Ask for Andre!
