Excellent!! Provided a great overview of food and daily life style in Rome. Visited a variety of neighborhoods and sampled a range of relevant foods from those areas. Super interesting!!
Thank you for sharing your experience, William! We are overjoyed to hear that you had such a great time learning about Rome and sampling local staples during one of our tours in Trastevere! We truly appreciate your kind words and we'd love to see you again soon for another food tour!
The guide was Sara and she was very knowledgeable about the area & the various types of food. We had 5 separate food & drink stops and each place we had something different. Definitely enough food. A really enjoyable night.
Hi Amanda! We are so glad you had an enjoyable time in Trastevere with Sara! There is definitely a lot to see and a lot to eat there! Thank you for leaving a review! It means the world to us that you had a great time!
This tour was a wonderful experience in the Trastavere neighborhood of Rome, which felt out of the tourist areas and made the experience feel more authentic. The neighborhood is vibrant and bustling, and the walking (which we did quite a lot of) played a huge part in the enjoyment. But the food-wow! We tried two different kinds of pizza, one with potatoes on it (yummy!). So, so good. We tried an unusual battered and fried spaghetti on a stick, which was a delicious appetizer. We had an interesting street food that was some sort of fried popover with cheese at the center. We stopped at a delicatessen with amazing roasted pork and prosciutto. We dined at a Trattoria that served us an amazing pasta dish with wine (most of our group doesn't drink but it was available). The final course- delicious gelato done authentically (not the poofy gelato with air pumped into it for tourists). Our guide was a young man with great enthusiasm for all the foods and made the evening so much fun. If you are going to Italy you must do at least one food tour like this. We did another food tour in Verona which was very different from this one but both incredibly informative and fun. Foods tours are a great change of pace from the history/museum/archaeological tours, and I highly recommend this one!
Luca took us on a food tour of the Trastevere. We walked around the beautiful Trastevere area and tried an excellent mix of traditional Italian food and adventurous, exquisite new dishes. It was fantastic and he had copious knowledge about Italian food and culture. The pork bread was phenomenal, the supri was superb, and the gelato at the end of the tour was fantastic. We are so grateful to him for an amazing experience.
My husband and I came to Italy for our thirty year anniversary. Luca was probably the best part of our time in Rome. He was very informative and personable. We especially enjoyed the pork (whole roasted pig).
Luca took my wife and myself on a wonderful food tour through Trastevere. The things we saw and ate and learned were excellent. The best part was Luca's friendly nature. By the end of the evening we felt that we had spent a nice time with a new friend.
We will most definitely forward this on to Luca! We are very happy you enjoyed your Trastevere Food Tour and hope to see you soon again in the Bel Paese!
My fiance and I capped off our first full day in Rome with this lovely food tour. Luca was friendly, excited, and knowledgeable. We got to try a ton of different food and even returned to one of the restaurants later in the week. The tour groups are kept small, so our group easily got to know each other throughout the tour. We were especially pleased with how accommodating it was: My fiance is a vegetarian and can be a bit of a picky eater, so he had low expectations going in and this ended up being his favorite activity all week! We actually had a couple of vegetarians in our group and there was always an equally hearty substitute whenever necessary. Super pleased with this experience and with Luca! Best part of our week!
We love that you enjoyed your time in Trastevere so much that you returned to one of the restaurants! Luca will be more than pleased with the comments and of course, making our tours equally enjoyable for all dietary requirements is a big desire of ours!
This was without a doubt the highlight of my trip. A great evening with plenty of incredible local food and drink and a really good way to meet and get to know other travellers. The small group size made it much more personal and conversation flowed all evening! Sara (our guide) was absolutely amazing - so friendly and chatty, and so full of knowledge about the local food and Rome/Trastevere's history. She could not have been better. I'll be coming back to Rome and will definitely be booking this again. Thank you so much, Sara, for making my first trip to Rome that much better!
Dear Emily, We are grateful for your thoughtful review. We will be sure to forward your comments on to Sara - who will no doubt be looking forward to seeing you for your second Trastevere Food Tour!
Our guide (Fredericka) made this tour special. Lots of extras that were so appreciated! We had fantastic food, learned about the area & never felt rushed. Loved it & well worth the price!
Thank you for the great review! We hope to see you again soon in the Eternal city!!
Luca Boccia was PHENOMENAL! His knowledge of Italian cuisine was exceptional, especially welcomed because it included more than just the well known dishes. He was funny and friendly, making our time together unforgettable. Most appreciated was his offer to remain a resource for the duration of our visit with DELICIOUS recommendations off the tourist path. Well done Luca!!!
We are so glad you enjoyed the food tour with Luca! And we hope you were able to venture off the beaten path in the Eternal City!
