Itinerary

Admission included90 min

Enjoy the marvels inside the Piazza dei Miracoli, 4 monuments: The Baptistery (famous for its echo), the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Cemetery. Take a souvenir photo with the background of the leaning Toore that you are holding.

Admission included30 min

The Pisa Baptistery of St. John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Pisa, Italy. Construction started in 1152 to replace an older baptistery, and when it was completed in 1363, it became the second building, in chronological order, in the Piazza dei Miracoli. The shape of the building, the material used, the distribution of the interior spaces given by the columns and the space between the two domes make the Baptistery create an incredible effect of acoustic resonance, better known as Echo. Enjoy the sound spreads throughout the space, like a continuous wave, rising in tonality to the point of suggesting the presence of an angelic choir. Every half hour the Baptistery staff performs a small demonstration for tourists: the effect is not to be missed.

Admission included30 min

Pisa Cathedral is a medieval Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, in the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italy. It is a notable example of Romanesque architecture, in particular the style known as Pisan Romanesque

Admission not included15 min

Admire the most famous bell tower in the world , the Leaning Tower of Pisa (visit outside), known worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean, the result of an unstable foundation. The tower is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in the "Piazza dei Miracoli" , after the cathedral and the Baptistry.

Admission included45 min

The visit includes the Accademy Gallery where inside is the David, Michelangelo's famous sculpture. Michelangelo’s David at the “Accademia in addition to the work of David, there are also other sculptures and a large collection of paintings by Florentine artists.

Admission not included20 min

The cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (visit outside), with its beautiful dome projected by Brunelleschi, is the cathedral of Florence. Construction began in 1296, Gothic style to a design of Arnolfo di Cambio and was structurally completed by 1436, with the dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior of the basilica is faced with polychrome marble panels in various shades of green and pink, bordered by white, and has an elaborate 19th-century Gothic Revival façade by Emilio De Fabris.

Admission not included15 min

Adjacent to the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the Bell Tower designed by Giotto (visit outside). Giotto's Bell Tower is the majestic bell tower of the Cathedral and one of the masterpieces of Italian Gothic. The Bell Tower has a square base of approximately 15 meters per side with corner reinforcements that rise up to the horizontal cantilevered crown located at a height of 84.7 metres.

Admission not included15 min

The Baptistery of San Giovanni (visit outside) is located in Piazza Duomo, in front of the Cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore, it is one of the most important monuments in Florence. The origins of the monument are not certain. It is thought to have been built on the ruins of an ancient Roman temple dedicated to the God Mars around the 4th-5th century AD. The first mention dates back to 897 when it was referred to as a basilica. In 1128 it officially became the city's baptistery, where the baptism rite took place. The baptistery, named after the patron saint of the city, is characterized by an octagonal plan, covered by a dome with eight segments covered on the outside by a pyramid roof. The exterior of the building is decorated with white Carrara marble and green Prato marble, characteristic of Florentine Romanesque architecture.

20 min

Piazza della Signoria has been at the center of Florence's political life since the 14th century. The Square has seen important historical events and great triumphs take place, such as the return of the Medici in 1530. The famous sculptures located in Piazza della Signoria have references to the political events of Florence. The David (the original is located in the Accademia Gallery) was created by Michelangelo and positioned in front of Palazzo Vecchio to symbolize the power of the Florentine Republic in contrast with the tyranny of the Medici. Hercules and Cacus (1534) by Bandinelli instead symbolizes the physical power of the family.

20 min

Built near a Roman-era crossing, the Ponte Vecchio was until 1218 the only bridge that crossed the Arno in Florence. Above Ponte Vecchio you can see a part of the beautiful Vasari Corridor. This corridor, built in 1565 by Giorgio Vasari, passes just above the goldsmith shops that currently stand on either side of the bridge. Commissioned by the Medici, it allowed them to move from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti without having to cross the streets of Florence, in complete safety. At the time of the construction of the Corridor, the butchers' shops were gathered on the Ponte Vecchio, whose activity probably disturbed the passage of the Medici, who in 1593 had them moved, replacing them with the more "decorous" goldsmith shops.

15 min

Piazzale Michelangelo is the most evocative point of Florence. From here you can admire the whole city with its splendid monuments. This square was dedicated to the great Renaissance artist Michelangelo and the copy of David is located in the center of the square next to the four allegories of the Medici Chapels of San Lorenzo. Visit of the panorama and group photography

Nice way to see Pisa and Florence

This is a fun trip to Pisa and Florence. It is not a huge bus with tons of people. It is more of a small group. We had 6 people in our van which was a nice amount. Agnese and Pinot were great guides. They fit a lot of sightseeing in for one day. They are also very nice and accommodating. My only wish is that there was time to explore Florence a little on your own. Other than that we really enjoyed this trip. It is a long day but well worth it. You also get to see a bit of the Tuscany countryside during the drive. If you have not seen Pisa or Florence then you can't go wrong with this trip!

This is a walking tour...

This is a walking tour through and through and travelers should be prepared to walk for 2 hours through the wonderful city of Florence. The positives: The Statue of David!, our knowledgeable guide, the beautiful sites and history of Venice. The negative: 102 degree weather (Fahrenheit) with what felt like 85% humidity was quite unbearable. Also, even though I know there is a lot to cover in little time (Pisa, Florence and all the driving in between) I felt extremely rushed by our guide (not the city tour guide mind you but the Viator experience tour guide) who walked extremely fast and didn't seem to wait for people who fell behind. Outside of that he was a wonderful person but he needed to be more aware of how fast (on a hot day) we had to walk to keep up with him. This is the reason I can only give the tour 4 stars and not 5

Popei and almalfi coast

We booked a private tour for 6 family members, unfortunately we shared our guide with another group of 4. the guide would switch cars throughout the day. we paid for a private tour. We would like to be compensated for not receiving what we purchased. Our tour guide Rish and driver Artur were very good and the driver was very conscientious to stop for rest if needed. It was a nice ride beautiful scenery, the trip was good other than paying for private not receiving.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tour overall, appreciated the beautiful scenery, and found both Rishi and Artur professional and attentive throughout the day. We would, however, like to clarify an important point regarding the booking. While the reservation was made through the tour page that also features the private option, the service selected and confirmed through Viator was the Small Group Tour option, which is offered at a different price than the private experience. For this reason, the tour was operated exactly as booked, with a tour leader assisting more than one vehicle during the day. We completely understand how this may have caused confusion, as both options are available on the same product page, but according to the reservation details received, a private tour was not purchased. We are glad that despite this misunderstanding, you enjoyed the experience and that Rishi and Artur helped make the day comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you again for your comments, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour in the future.

An amazing day trip to...

An amazing day trip to both Piza and Venice. Our guide was knowledgeable and delighted us with information throughout the drive and the sites. A new guide joined us in Florence who was an expert on art and Florence. A wonderful lunch in Florence (self pay). The tour felt rushed from the start. It wasn’t clear what time we had to be at certain locations and asking for a bathroom break seemed to cause timing issues. It’s a full day and I did need several bathroom breaks which I think caused more stress for the guide.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed visiting Pisa and Florence and that you appreciated the knowledge and professionalism of both your tour leader and the local guide in Florence. We are especially pleased that you enjoyed learning about the history, culture, and art of these remarkable destinations. At the same time, we would like to clarify that tours covering two major cities in a single day require careful time management in order to ensure that all guests can enjoy the planned visits, scheduled entrances, and return to Rome at the expected time. Our tour leaders always do their best to accommodate individual needs, including additional comfort stops whenever possible, while also balancing the needs of the entire group and the tour schedule. We are sorry if the pace of the day felt rushed at times, but this is often a natural consequence of trying to maximize the experience and include as many highlights as possible within a full-day itinerary. We would also like to recognize our staff, who work hard throughout the day to assist guests, adapt to unforeseen circumstances, and ensure that everyone enjoys a smooth and memorable experience. We appreciate your comments and are pleased that, despite these challenges, you were able to enjoy the beauty of Pisa and Florence and had an overall positive experience. Thank you for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you again on a future tour in Italy.

Family Day trip to Pisa and Florence from Rome

Great communication from the moment I booked the tour. Prompt on time pickup at a convenient location. Drive to Pisa and Florence from Rome was very comfortable in a spacious van with AC. Traveled with my senior parents, husband and two kids under 18. Stopped there and back at to use restrooms and get drinks and snacks. Once in Pisa guide walked us straight into Baptistry and Cathedral with tickets and we were able to see and explore as well as see the tower and take pictures. From there we went to Florence and we went to a leather store to see and purchase leather goods. So many beautiful colors and items to pick from. Guide recommended a place to eat, Trattoria Vecchio Mercato and reserved a table for us. Our meal was delicious and we had some time to walk the market afterwards before our walking tour started. Our guide was very informative and we were able to get in fairly quickly to the Galleria to see David. From there we went to see the Cathedral and Baptistry then to the Piazza della Signoria and walked to Ponte Vecchio. The Tour was easy to follow and definitely would recommend. Before we left our driver stopped at Vista Panoramica di Firenze Punto Panoramico and the views of the city are amazing. We all enjoyed our day trip and had a wonderful time. Thank you.

The Day of Hell on Wheels

The headline said Private Tour. My fault for failing to read the fine print on the click but I didn’t realize it was a shared tour. Our new friends were fine. The van was a POS. The suspension was horrible and riding in the back seat while our driver drove like he was Mario Andreaddi was the worst experience I have ever had. 4 hours of pure hell felling every bump turn and hard stop. It’s was so bad we took a train back from Florence to Rome rather than ride in it any more. I would not recommend this tour period.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify a few points for future readers. The tour you booked is clearly advertised as a small-group experience, while a private option is available separately for guests who prefer exclusive transportation and guiding services. Regarding the vehicle, we take great pride in maintaining a modern fleet that is regularly inspected and serviced to ensure comfort and safety for our guests. We have received many positive comments from travelers regarding the same vehicles used on this route. As for the driving, all of our drivers are licensed professionals with extensive experience and are required to comply with all traffic regulations and safety standards. We take any comments regarding safety very seriously, but we can confidently state that our drivers do not exceed speed limits or compromise passenger safety. We understand that long road journeys, particularly between Rome, Pisa, and Florence, may feel tiring for some travelers, and comfort can be perceived differently from person to person. We appreciate your feedback, but we also stand by the professionalism of our staff and the quality standards of our vehicles and services. We wish you the very best for the remainder of your travels in Italy.

Wonderful experience in Pisa and Florence

We booked through Viator to visit Pisa and Florence. Our driver Antonio and guide Agnese were so polite and friendly . They helped us with our plans and needs. They were taking care if we are comfortable and checking the whole day schedule of ours for what works and what doesn’t since I had a little kid. Agnese was very patient with explaining history of Tuscan and Florence. She also gave us more suggestions on Rome and other historical and beautiful places in Italy. She also helped us sneak in our leather shopping in Florence which we were much interested in. Thanks to her for getting us in the right stores. Overall we had wonderful experiences within this tour with good food, shopping and visiting to these cities.

Florence and Pisa a beautiful experience.

My family and I took the private tour to Pisa and Florence. We were met in the morning at our hotel by our Guide - Nariman “Nari” and Driver - Adam. The van was spotless and the drive to Pisa was beautiful as we travelled along the coast. Nari kept us engaged as he enlightened us to the rich history, geography, and cultural aspects of the regions we encountered. My teenagers listened intently as Nari was very informative and thoughtfully kept their attention. We arrived at the magnificent sights, and Nari’s energy and enthusiasm was infectious, making for a wonderfully memorable experience. Florence and Pisa are a must see. If you go, know that the Welcome to Italy tour is fantastic. The professionalism and attentiveness to our needs made the experience a wonderful memory which brings smiles to my family’s faces every time we talk about it.

Operator response

It is especially rewarding to know that Nariman’s passion, knowledge, and enthusiasm helped bring the history, culture, and beauty of these destinations to life, and that he was able to engage both adults and teenagers throughout the journey. We are also pleased that Adam provided a comfortable and enjoyable ride and that the quality of the transportation contributed to the overall experience. Knowing that the tour created lasting memories for your family and continues to bring smiles whenever you talk about it is the greatest compliment we could receive. Thank you for your kind words, your recommendation, and for choosing to travel with us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and your family back for another unforgettable adventure in Italy.
