Punctually collected from our airb&b accommodation. Suda our guide was fabulous, very friendly and deeply knowledgeable. The one day tour with my teenage sons was a great success as she engaged them with the history and interesting facts. Suda also made some great recommendations for an authentic lunch location. I would highly recommend the experience and Suda.
Umran showed me incredible food and incredible places. Excellent tour guide who can work around any dietary restrictions safely and deliciously.
Feiza was wonderful. We were introduced to so many new and delicious things and learned a lot about Turkish cooking and culture. We also just had a lot of fun together.
Amazing selection of food. As being tour leader and living in Istanbul myself, i can say that this tour couldn't be better designed!
Our tour guide Sebnem was amazing! She provided great information about Turkey, the culture and the foods. Since we were on a private tour, Sebnem was very flexible for us to try a variety of foods in many different locations. She even met us at our Airbnb to begin our tour. Travelling with Sebnem through different neighborhoods was such a fun experience. We had so many different and generous sized food samples, we were so full at the end of our tour. Taking the ferry to the Asian side also greatly increased our food knowledge and food experience in Turkey. Sebnem is a wonderful tour guide who is professional, friendly, knowledgeable with a very warm personality. If you’re a foodie, I would highly recommend this food tour with Sebnem!
Okay the cons- you probably need more than 4 hours, especially if you want to go to the Asia side of Istanbul. My only feedback is do not limit yourself to 4 hours because you can easily do more! Pros- Volkan was lovely, very chill. The food is lovely. I love finding a random alleyway with the best food in it. The Asia side of Istanbul is so unique and has spectacular views of the European side. Oh and if you love cats and dogs everywhere, you will REALLY enjoy! I tried to pet every cat I saw! But obviously this is optional ;)
Tarik was an excellent guide who knew Istanbul very well and gave us the flavour of where local people went to eat and the best foods also favoured by locals. We were able to sample many delicious things. We saw the fish market and many food stalls, the spice market and so on. We travelled on the metro, on trams, and ferries. Tarik was able to tell us a lot about Turkey, some history and information about Istanbul. He pointed out many major buildings of interest . He was a delightful and enthusiastic guide with excellent English. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him.
Fabulous guide that was detailed with all the food experiences.
A fabulous experience with our guide Emel, she knew where to go and had a beautiful personality that was so easy to talk about everything while walking through amazing local restaurants. People became friends instantly with her warm smile and details about the food we ate. High recommend this experience.
Emel was such an awesome guide. We sampled authentic, high quality Turkish cuisine, coupled with great local knowledge and humour. Could not recommend this tour highly enough - it’s a ‘must do’.
