Itinerary
This splendid tour takes in the Galleries of Maps, Tapestries and Candelabra. In the latter you will see the famous sculpture of Lacoon and his sons. As well as these wonderful galleries you will spend time in the Raphael Rooms, and of course visit the Sistine Chapel. As you wend your way through the Vatican Museums your guide will point out the most important works of art and in particular give you an insight into Michelangelo’s ceiling frescoes in the Sistine Chapel so that you can gain a much better appreciation of this magnificent chapel and its decorations. On this extended tour you have the opportunity to see much more of the wonders that are housed in the Vatican City including its numerous sculptures, some very famous and some equally stunning but almost unknown.
From the Sistine Chapel to Raphael’s Rooms, on this tour we ensure that in addition to the Vatican Museum’s highlights we show you a few surprises as well – things you didn’t know were housed within its walls.Something not on the normal tourist itinerary is a visit to the Borgia Apartments. Adorned with family portraits these apartments were occupied in the 15th century by the notorious Borgia Family. Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia of Spain, Pope Alexander VI, lived here with his beautiful daughter Lucretia and charismatic son Cesare. Your guide will explain the history hidden within the family portrait’s religious content and tell you some family secrets – a glimpse into the lives of this extraordinary family! Before you arrive at the next stop on the tour, the Sistine Chapel, your guide will explain something of the history of Michelangelo’s magnificent frescoes; what to look for and why they are so renowned. It took eight years to complete this amazing ceiling, a real labour of love!
The tour ends in Saint Peter’s Square where your guide will give you some information about the magnificent statues by Bernini that surround the square. A perfect end to a wonderful tour!

Francesco was both a knowledgeable and thorough guide. Also, since there isn’t talking permitted in the Sistine Chapel, he had a creative way of sharing the details on the art and what we would see prior to going in to view it, making the visit so much more meaningful and interesting!
Tomasso was our guide and was outstanding in every sense of the word. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and full of interesting facts. I would recommend the tour and especially Tomasso to anyone who wants to have a top notch experience at the Vatican/Sistine Chapel/St. Peters.
Great tour guide! Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly.
Tommaso was probably our favorite part of the tour. He was so knowledgeable and helpful and answered all our questions. He knew the best places to go and what we wanted to see without us even telling him. We had a blast and when we come back, we are totally booking with him again. Highly recommend!
Francesco was an outstanding tour guide! Very knowledgeable. Enjoyed our tour and our conversations. He had a wealth of information to provide us with.
Francesco was simply incredible! His knowledge was vast and explained things so well. We have been there four times but learned so much new from him. His English was easy to understand and such a vibrant personable personality. Will definitely look him up on our next visit to Rome!!!!!!
This tour of the Vatican was our big splurge . . . and it was worth every penny. We were lucky enough to have Massilimo. Imagine spending six hours in the massive Vatican complex (14 total museums) with an actual Vatican historian/theologian. Massilimo has been doing these tours for 10 years and has enthusiasm like he just started yesterday. Also, the line alone to get into the Vatican was over two hours - and these were people with skip the line tickets. We walked right in and had a spectacular day. He literally knows this complex like the back of his hand. Every masterpiece, every building, most of the employees. It was fantastic. Cannot recommend this tour enough!
Our guide adapted our tour to make it every thing we wanted. He spoke perfect English and was aware of our every need. Francisco was the very best.
This was the first time we were in Rome and we picked this tour to explore the Vatican. Our guide was Francesco. I can't say enough good things about him. He is very descriptive and very knowledgeable of the history and different artifacts in the Vatican. We enjoyed our tour with him very much. If you are gong to tour the Vatican, definitely request Francesco as you will really enjoy his stories and how he brings the tour alive! 5 stars all around for him!!!!
The first tour we went in was The Vatican and it was fabulous! We learned so much from Tomas. He was engaging, allowed us enough time to see all the amazing sites but got us right past the lines with no waiting! Our second tour was also with Tomas at the Colosseum! We ended up having a private tour - just the 3 of us and again he did an amazing job. We were able to ask all our questions and see so many interesting parts of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. We would highly recommend these professional and informative tours!
