Great day exploring the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. It was so hot (30C+) and our lovely guide made sure we were in shade, had somewhere to lean on/sit on and kept hydrated throughout!
Our Tour guide was knowledgeable but he devoted his time to non interesting facts of the tour. It was in the high 80’s and we wanted to see the Colosseum, but we’re directed to a nearby garden and ruins. By the time we walked to the Colosseum we were all spent and over heated. The Colosseum was amazing, but we left the tour early just to get away from the silly non interesting facts!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We would like to clarify that the “garden and ruins” you refer to are in fact the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill—two of the most important archaeological sites in Rome and essential for understanding the history of Ancient Rome. They are also part of the experience you specifically booked and paid for, together with the Colosseum. The “silly facts” mentioned in your review are, in reality, historical explanations provided by the guide to help visitors understand the significance of the monuments they are seeing. These insights are generally appreciated by guests who choose a guided tour, as they are designed to bring the ruins and their history to life. Moreover, both the Forum and the Palatine Hill are not only historically fundamental, but also exceptionally beautiful and evocative sites. From your comments, however, it seems that your group may have been more interested in simply accessing the Colosseum itself rather than participating in a full guided cultural experience. In that case, we find it a bit surprising that a 3-hour combined tour of all three sites was selected instead of the Colosseum express option, which we also offer. We would also like to gently point out that you were able to join your group thanks to the efforts of the guide and staff, as well as the consideration of the other participants, despite your very late arrival. Without this, you would have missed the entry not only to the Colosseum, but also to the "garden and ruins". We are sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations, but we remain confident in the value and quality of the historical content provided during the tour. That said, we do understand that cultural tours are not for everyone. Best regards, Roman Way Tours
We toured with Roman Way for the Coluseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill and our tour guide was Henry. It was a great experience especially because our tour guide nicely explained everything and was so enthusiastic about the whole experience. He prioritized the groups experience by giving breaks and answering questions and made the whole tour very fun. We were also able to book this the day before luckily. All in all, this was an amazing experience and we loved having Henry as a tour guide!
This is the most exciting thing I experienced in Rome. Get a guide and see the underground rooms under the Colosseum as well. Our guide Antonio was super fun and could really give the best guide and tour with glimpse in the eye. Great recommendation to him👍
Henry was so enthusiastic that you felt excited to be there. He has so much knowledge and is happy to be in this county. You can see the pride shining through
Henry was a fantastic guide. He was passionate about sharing his country’s history. He also possesses an energy and excitement that was contagious and captured everyone’s interest. We ended our three week trip to Italy with Henry’s tour and he put the exact finishing touch we were hoping for. Thank you Henry!! Hugs from America!
It was pouring rain but our tour guide was fantastic and kept us engaged with historical information and context.
An extensive and insightful tour by Sam from the Roman Way. The sights, as stated, including the arches, the missing arch, and a Latin class on top of it. A vast wealth of knowledge!
Our Colosseum tour was absolutely unforgettable. Henry was incredible—he didn’t just guide us, he transported us back in time, bringing the history of ancient Rome vividly to life with his storytelling. His energy, passion, and depth of knowledge made every moment engaging and memorable. This is truly a must-do experience for anyone visiting Rome, especially if you want more than just photos—you’ll leave with a real understanding of the history behind what you’re seeing. Henry was hands down the best guide we could have asked for. Highly, highly recommend!
The tour was great! The guide was so nice and extremely knowledgeable in Roman history. If you’re in Rome you want to book this tour. Well worth it!
