Discover the Colosseum with a guided tour designed for small groups and choose the experience that best suits you. Depending on the option selected, you can explore the Colosseum basement, walk on the reconstruction of the Arena, or experience a fascinating evening visit to the basement, when the monument is illuminated and the atmosphere becomes even more suggestive. During the visit the Guide will tell the story of the most famous amphitheatre in the world, explaining how gladiators, animals and sets took part in the shows of ancient Rome. With the Underground Experience option you will discover the hidden corridors under the arena and the complex mechanisms used during the games. On the Arena Floor tour, you can see the Colosseum from a unique perspective, right where gladiators fought. At the end of the day tours you can continue the visit independently of the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. Note: Forum and Palatine are not included in the Underground by Night option.

Itinerary
Meeting with the Guide near the Colosseum for a brief introduction to the history of the most famous amphitheater in the world. You will find out when it was built, which emperors promoted its construction and which shows took place inside it.
Colosseum dungeons (depending on the selected option) Go down to the Colosseum basement, the area where gladiators and animals were prepared before the shows. During the visit you will discover the hidden corridors and the complex mechanisms used in antiquity to lift sets and protagonists of the games.
3. Arena of the Colosseum Access the reconstruction of the arena and see the Colosseum from a unique perspective. Here the Guide will tell the stories of gladiators and shows that entertained thousands of spectators in ancient Rome.
Top level and exposure Continue your visit inside the Colosseum by exploring the exhibition areas and upper levels, where exhibits and illustrative panels tell the story and engineering of this extraordinary monument.

Book asap, as this is a very limited tour and an essential part of the colleseum tour. It was amazing to get 'backstage pass' experience!

Our trip involved the unseen parts of the Colosseum. The Colosseum was extremely busy but the guide managed to guide us through by skipping the queues. Alex took us to parts beneath what would have been the arena floor and showed us an AI generated mock up of the gladiators tunnel from the Ludus Magnus. The areas where the animals were kept and ships built were also displayed. Alex was informative and had a relaxed easy manner which helped when explaining . We then went up to the main arena. Overall an excellent experience which lasted 2 1/2 hours

Prepare to walk and up and down steps extremely old ones!! Tour guide was great and extremely knowledgeable about the Colosseum. You can tell right off this is her career ancient Rome and history of the Colosseum and Im sure alot more. She loves to talk so you got alot out of her is a short period of time.
