Colosseum and Roman Forum Group Tour or Audio Guided tours

While we enjoyed the Roman Forum, we were very inconvenienced by a third party travel group who called us the day before or tour and told us that we needed to change the time because the colosseum was closing at a certain time and we wouldn't have time. She told us that there was no option and that we'd have to come back the following day to complete the tour. We ended up not touring the colosseum at all. we were a party of 8.

First class travel with guide to Pompeii from Rome. However, after tour we were left a lone to get back to Rome. Took an unairconditioned train we had to find and had to stand all the way to Naples. Vs the high speed trains we took in. Then had to meet our train from Naples to Rome with no guidance.

Our tour guide, Fabrizio, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, informative and engaging. It was a great tour!!

Very easy to find where to pick up tickets. They gave you a great map and access to WiFi, able to listen to the recording at the points and even gave us cold bottles of water!

Katrina was out tour guide and she was very knowledgeable. She took great care to make sure we had a great tour.Great day.

This was the worst experience in our entire 2-week Italy trip. We of course booked in advance prior to arriving in Italy and booked for a 3-hour tour with this group on 7/5 starting at 9:30 AM. We got to the meeting location at 9:10 AM and we were initially confused since the actual meeting point is across the street (not the coffee place!). We arrived to meet with the tour operators who then told us apparently this tour was rebooked for an earlier time BUT we never received any such notification. Add to the fact that we were already in Italy for 2 weeks at this point and this was the ONLY tour group that pulled this stunt on us. The tour operators on site were not very helpful so I immediately called Viator customer service and spoke to a rep (I believe her name was Arlene Joy) who was very receptive to our plight and indicated that we would receive a full refund in 24-48 hours. This of course did not happen and I received an update within only a few hours saying that our refund was denied. What we decided to do was join a 9:30 AM group tour that was only seeing the Colosseum and was only 1 hour long as the tour operators on site were not helpful or offering us any other options. The tour itself was alright (Francis the tour guide was actually quite nice and knowledgeable) but we could not enjoy this tour due to the frustrations dealt our way. In the end, we did not get the services we paid for and we even arrived on time (it noted in the instructions to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the tour). I cannot stress how poorly this company is run and would advise everyone reading this to select another tour. I am only speaking of those managing this tour group and would like to exclude the actual tour guides.

We did the tour in group, guide Luena was very good, spoke Portuguese very clearly. Our group had people of different ages and she caught everyone’s attention. Passed a lot of information in a light way. Thanks to her, the walk was not exhausting. It made us understand the context, giving meaning to the visits. It was worth it. We like it!

The visit was spectacular, because you can not say anything else about a monument comprising one of the 7 wonders of the world, and an icon of Roman culture, but sorry I cannot say the same of the guide. It’s called Luena, and in terms of knowledge, I don’t take away its value, but being prepared as a tour guide, is not only memorizing some knowledge, but having humanity. She treated us like little children, I felt like at school, the ego was coming out of her ears, and she got rude in a very toxic way, people like that can not be working to the public, let alone in such an expensive visit. She was a real pedantic and spoke in bad ways to some people on different occasions, some with an age who could be her mother, although respect must be for all ages. Being prepared is other knowledge having human skills, not just knowledge. I only see her as a teacher, and I don't think so, because she would raise children in real toxicity. When hiring a tour guide that relates to persomas, first you have to look at their human skills, the rest is very secondary.

We booked the Colosseum, Palatine and Roman Forum tour on July 5, 2019. We got a guide in Spanish called Rosa. The tour of the Colosseum went well, she had her pennant hooked on her backpack, I didn't complain about her historical explanation. In the Colosseum there were people who didn't follow the rest of the tour and others joined. until there, everything was fine. As we left the Colosseum there are pinwheels and the exit slowed down. As we left we didn't see the group, if her voice was heard, but as much as we looked and looked for her pennant, among so many people, we didn't see her. But we kept listening to her voice. She never said: "I lack the Argentines, or ladies I'm under the arch of triumph" Conclusion to our desperation, we searched through the long lines to enter the Colosseum for another guide of the company who gently accompanied us to find people who with cell phone communicated with Rosa and accompanied us to the place that was the group. We were received in a very bad way accusing us that we had lost and that she always had the pennant up, less so at that time. I wonder: can a guide "lose people from your group in charge?" really bittered her excursion.

It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. The Romanian guide Severos was excellent and very friendly.
