Classic Half-Day Wine Tour in Frascati with Lunch

Description
Discover all the best Frascati has to offer from its charming city center, beautiful views and vineyards, an historic family-run winery, and fresh local cuisine. This half-day tour from Rome will stimulate your senses and rejuvenate your spirit. Frascati is an easy 25 minute train ride from Rome and is part of the Castelli Romani or ‘Roman Castles. Things move at a slower pace in Frascati. Nowhere is this fact better represented than in the the way food is produced and prepared. Porchetta is cooked in a wood burning oven for over 8 hours. The olive oil is extra virgin and cold pressed. The pasta is all hand-made. Our wine is still made with ancient techniques first used by the Romans. Here, the local baker, winemaker, tavern owner, and restaurant owner all value organic and locally sourced products. Not because its trendy, but because it’s tradition!

This was the perfect wine tour for a day trip outside of Rome. It was a very nice arrangement with wine tasting at their family-owned farm in the morning and then a guided tour around Frascati with the opportunity to try different dishes in a traditional bakery. At the end we was served a classic Italian lunch. Can not recommed this tour enough!
Ciao Emma! Thank you so much for your kind words :) We hope to see you back in Frascati one day... Grazie!
The meeting instructions were clear and accurate. The guide at the winery was fun and able to answer all our questions. The guide at the village was also fun and entertaining. Wine and food were great. An easy fun 1/2 day from Rome.
Ciao! Thank you so much for your kind words. We had a great time showing you around our town! grazie!
The tour of the winery with Paola was great! So informative of the area, the family winery, and the tour of the creepy cave was really enjoyable. Where it fell down for us was the hand off to the lady for the tour of Frascati and the lunch. She was extremely “dismissive” and not very nice. It was too warm for the walking tour of the town, and why anyone needed the porchetta sandwich and crappy wine before lunch was questionable. We’d give the winery and vineyard portion a 5, but the second half a 2.
Thank you for your review and the great feedback on the winery portion of your day! While the midday heat can make walking a challenge, the town tour and traditional porchetta stop are carefully designed to give guests an authentic taste of Frascati’s historic culinary culture. Our guides are deeply dedicated to providing a welcoming experience, and we appreciate your valuable feedback.
If you like wine with lunch, try them out. They offer a great winery tour and excellent walking tour of the downtown Frascati area
Ciao Michael! Thank you so much for your kind review :) We hope to see you back in Frascati one day! grazie!
We were met at the station in Frascati, which was easy, because there was only one train every two hours. Short drive to the vineyard where our guide Paula met us. Our group size of 10 was a good size. Paula was very informative, knowledgeable and extremely passionate about her wines and Frascati, and Italy in general. We learned a lot about wines, how to tell if they were good etc. We got to taste several glasses in the cellars (caves) and also outside. We then went into Frascati for lunch. Being a Sunday it was quiet but the restaurant was busy and lively. We all sat in the courtyard and were served several dishes of local food, along with some more wine. Really relaxed day and it was very welcome after a few days of walking around Rome. The 30 minute train ride from Rome is only 2 euros each way.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and detailed description of what is included :) Grazie!
All was super and very good vines
Especially at the winery, we really enjoyed ourselves! The winemaker made the tour very informative and entertaining and turned the wine tasting into a real experience. The city tour was a bit short because the tour guide wanted to go to her family. However, the wonderful food at the end compensated for that.
This was a very pleasant way to spend the afternoon! Just a short train ride from Rome. Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We tasted some great wine and enjoyed a stroll through the town learning about its history. Finished with a wonderful lunch!
This was such a great experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this if you’re looking for a wine tour close to Rome. Our guide was outstanding!
We were surprised at the depth of the experience, including wine caves. The hosts/guides were very personable. Lunch in the small town was great.
