Depending on the option selected, the experience can be enriched with a guided visit to the Capuchin Crypts or a guided underground tour of the Trevi Fountain District. During the drive on the shuttle bus to the catacombs, the guide on the bus didn’t talk to us. I feel this was a missed opportunity to point out sights and/or provide more information about the catacombs before our arrival. Once there, the guide basically left us on our own to figure out which line to get into to enter the catacombs. Our group was inadvertently added to another large group. Because the group was so large, we were unable to hear the tour guide. We had no context for the areas we were walking through. Also, because we were added to another group, we were finished an hour earlier than expected, and we had to wait for the rest of the tourists doing their tour in another language before getting on the shuttle bus. There was a lot of wasted time during this tour.
