Visiting the Castel Sant'Angelo was a childhood dream for my partner and it did not disappoint. The merge between the strength of the fortress on one hand and the elaborate and delicate decorations of the residences was surprising and wonderful. Special thanks to our guide Serena who was very knowledgable and a kindred soul in our love for history and art.
I've walked past this historical site so many times but never went in. I'm so glad we signed up for the tour. Our guide was very young but very knowledgeable. A great experience!
The visit was really good, I loved Hadrian's story in college so I was really pleasantly surprised to discover his whole story in this castle. Admission is 2/3 euros for -26 years. We had a drink at the bar, the prices were a bit expensive but we had to pay the place. (9.5 euros per spritz) The view of the Vatican is exceptional but tourists who stop at the table to take pictures are a little less good. I still have a very good memory of it.
You can find some exhibitions in this castle. The view from the top is stunning so worth the trip on the stairs. You can find a nice cafe on the top.
We did a private tour it was amazing. Highly recommend. There were steep stairs but easily done. The view of rome from the top was breath taking. Easier entrance. Plenty of bathrooms and even a Cafe inside for water or drinks. Ask about the worst cell in the castle for prisoners!
We had a little difficulty finding the meeting spot (our fault, not theirs) and we were 10 minutes late. Our guide was very patient and waited for us despite temperatures that exceeded 100 degrees. The tour was very thorough and we were able to see the entire interior of the Castel. Our guide explained the amazing history of the Castel. We were glad we signed up for this tour.
I had a wonderful tour with Serena at the Castel. Tremendous history Well told by our guide Recommend to all
Our guide (Serena) was amazing, she provided the right level of detail to cover the history while tying the story together with immense knowledge and passion. This is a must for students of papal history or just Rome, you will be impressed.
The tour was great. Our guide did a good job. She was very knowledgeable about the Castel, and very pleasant.
Beautiful castle, very well preserved, impressive construction. It was part of the Roman Empire and later taken over by the popes. It has a beautiful view, makes many good photos.
