Begin on the ground floor with a breathtaking journey through Baroque sculpture. Marvel at Bernini’s dynamic masterpieces—Apollo and Daphne, David, and The Rape of Proserpina—as well as Canova’s elegant Pauline Bonaparte. This section brings marble to life with emotion, movement, and mythological drama.
Continue upstairs to explore the Gallery’s world-class painting collection. Admire Caravaggio’s striking realism, including David with the Head of Goliath and St. Jerome. See Raphael’s delicate Lady with a Unicorn, Titian’s enigmatic Sacred and Profane Love, and Correggio’s sensual Danaë. This section showcases the emotional power and beauty of Italian art.
After your tour is finished, enjoy free time in a self-led exploration of the Borghese Gardens. After exiting the Borghese Gallery, stroll along Viale dei Pupazzi toward the Temple of Aesculapius, a romantic lake surrounded by umbrella pines and statues. You can rent a rowboat here for a quick paddle or simply relax and take photos. Then follow signs toward Pincian Hill Terrace (Terrazza del Pincio)—one of Rome’s best viewpoints. From here, enjoy sweeping views over Piazza del Popolo and the city skyline, perfect for photos or a peaceful moment.
Head down the shaded path toward Casina Valadier, a historic café-bar with panoramic terraces—great for coffee, aperitivo, or a light lunch. From here, visitors can either explore more of the park at their own pace—such as the Globe Theatre, Cinema dei Piccoli, or the Borghese Gardens—or slowly make their way toward Piazza del Popolo to re-enter the bustle of the city.

The gallery limits to 180 tickets per hour, and you have to leave after 2 hours. Lorena was our guide and she was amazing! She made sure she saw the highlights in our limited time. She explained the Bernini sculptures so that they literally took on life. I learned so much from her and will have a much better appreciation of sculpture in the future.

Actually a beautiful exhibition, but not worth 99 euros or more per ticket. It feels terrible when the ticket can be purchased on-site at Villa Borghese for 16 euros. Yes, you wait 1 to 2 hours, so what? Unfortunately, the organizer is unwilling to end the artificially high ticketing through private intermediaries.

As visits to the Borghesse Gallery are limited to 2 hours, it was great to have a lively, well-informed guide, who ensured that we didn't miss the main highlights. On the positive side, the 2-hour limit meant that the galleries were never too crowded and we could really appreciate the artworks.

Elena was a fantastic tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the art in Villa Borghese museum. I can only assume she was an art history/history major because she was truly an expert. Booking this tour was the best decision. I tried to book too late and was unable to get a tour of that museum my first visit to Rome. I highly recommend this tour. Book very early! You do not want to miss this! This tour had a maximum of 15 people and there were four of us that day.
