Itinerary
Borghese Gallery is a not-to-be-missed attraction for those who love Italian artworks. One of the greatest art collections in the world awaits you in a sumptuous and regal setting built by Scipione Borghese, Pope Paul V’s nephew in the early 17th century. The Borghese Gallery sculptures collection includes several other masterpieces by Gianlorenzo Bernini, including The Truth, Scipione Borghese’s Bust and many of the artist’s self-portrait. The Museum also hosts one of the most famous works by the Italian Master of Neoclassic sculpture, Antonio Canova. Walk into the Paolina Room and pause to contemplate the wonderful statue of Paolina Borghese, Camillo Borghese’s wife, in the guise of Venus. As you continue your tour, marvel at the sight of the Old Masters, such as Raffaello’s famous Lady with Unicorn and Portrait of Pope Julius II, or Caravaggio’s David with the Head of Goliath, Boy with a Basket of Fruit, St Jerome, and Self-Portrait as Bacchus, to name but a few.

Very detailed description of the art which was excellent. Not as much about the history or the villa which my family wanted.
I had really wanted to see the Borghese collection but had read about the nightmare of trying to get tickets. This tour was the best of both worlds/ we got tickets to the gallery and an amazing guide who was so informative about the art we were seeing. I highly recommend it.
The guide Virginia did an amazing job of articulating the personalities of the artists and patrons - not to mention the nature of the art itself.
Wonderful paintings and sculptures throughout the museum. Virginia provided an incredibly informative tour. She is very passionate about the museum and its works…and it showed in her tour. Thank you, Ginnie. A definite winner!
HORRIBLE, AWFUL, TERRIBLE if I could leave minus stars I would. We were here 20 minutes early asked everyone if they were either Rome with Sylvia and the guide WITH OUR TICKETS NEVER SHOWED UP!!!!
Very disappointing experience. We arrived 15 minutes early and waited at the exact meeting point as instructed, but Silvia never showed up. We called the activity provider multiple times using the number provided, and nobody answered. As tourists with limited time in Rome, this wasted a valuable part of our day. No communication, no explanation, and no customer support. Would not recommend.
We could not attend the Villa Borghese tour because the guide from 'Rome with Silvia' did not show up, and has not been reachable by phone until today, with no response to email contact either. That was very disappointing, as we could not book a replacement on Sunday - today, Monday, the Villa is closed - therefore, no recommendation!
No stars! The tour guide and tickets never showed up! Tried to contact and for 30 min past time never responded at all! Spoke with all other tour guides at site and the museum itself and no one even knows this guide, Did not get to see gallery at all very disappointed. I contacted Viator for refund but still out 60€ for taxi fares and wasted half a day of vacation with only disappointment. Tried to purchase tickets at gallery myself but sold out. I hope Viator removes this company because it is a scam! I book through Viator to avoid scams and make travel easier in places where I don’t know how. Save yourself some trouble and book with a different company or you might not be able to go like us! Now I won’t be able to see the museum and am very disappointed!
I booked a tour for my wife and I. We were here on the scheduled date and time. No guide ever showed up. So I went to the ticket counter and asked if the tour group paid for any tickets today and he said they did not. How does this even happen? Really unacceptable.
The museum was fantastic the young woman Katya who helped me with my ticket could not have been better
