Visit the beautiful Appia Antica Regional Park by bike. As you pedal through centuries of history, the legends and figures of the past will unfold before your eyes: spot mausoleums, mounds, tombs and remnants of Ancient Rome. Cycling along the Appian Way is a beautiful adventure that will take your mind on a journey through time, dreaming of emperors, centurions, and patricians of times gone by. Bike rentals are available for children and adults, and are a great way to explore the area at your own pace. Follow a series of recommended itineraries, or create your own! Having a bike gives you more freedom to go where you want, with less stress. Please notice that the entire Appian Way is a cobblestones path, a little confidence in riding the bikes is required. You can easily reach us to get the Metro A up to Arco di Travertino stop and then take the 660 bus to the Bike Rental Point

The scenery was fabulous - however the e bikes were shorter age and need of much needed major maintenance. New bikes probably best way to go . Brakes, a bit dodgy , the brake cable on my bike was held on by black tape. The bike seats very uncomfortable and padding worn out as are old.

Paul was extremely helpful in us getting set up and oriented. My wife crashed on the route on a gravel area and Alessio came quickly and was very caring and kind. We would highly recommend their services but be careful on the gravel!

The provided guide map was appreciated and the ride and sites were beautiful. We ran into an unfortunate situation where a nearly fully charged battery completely died approx halfway thru the route. I got plenty of unexpected exercise peddling back up to the bike rental. After a brief exchange and request for additional time, I was directed by the attendant to call and speak with the owner. The owner listened to my experience and request, then promptly spoke to the attendant over the phone. Within minutes I had a different bike with a fully charged battery and we were back on our way to finish our tour. Unexpected things happen in business - batteries go bad. My compliments to the owner for promptly taking care of the issue which resulted in a finished bike tour and a happy experience overall. As a business owner myself - if I had one (constructive) criticism, it would be to empower your staff to recognize issues such as this. Do not insinuate even for a moment that the customer is at fault for a premature dead battery. The attendant should make the call to the owner, not the customer. The conversation should never need to escalate to the point of frustration, for both the customer and attendant. All in all my son and I had a very enjoyable experience and would 100% do it again and recommend others do the same. Our minor issue was resolved promptly and properly by the owner, which I very much appreciated.

The reception was a bit cool. The gate was closed and the area somewhat quiet and deserted. A driver's license will be withheld as a deposit. Which I didn't like. The tour is a lot of fun. But challenging because of the huge boulders. And bumpy paths. The mountain bike is qualitatively fine to make the trip. We had the bikes 2 hours. Fine to cycle the shortened route. The old road and surroundings are beautiful. The park with the old city walls and views was great. Lovely trip with a little challenge here and there. Great to do all! On my return I got everything back neatly.
Hartelijk dank voor je feedback! 🌟 We zijn blij te horen dat je hebt genoten van dit "kleine avontuur door de geschiedenis" en dat de kwaliteit van onze mountainbikes aan de verwachtingen voldeed om de hobbelige paden en de oude Romeinse kasseien te Wat betreft de ontvangst: onze excuses als het wat koeltjes overkwam. Omdat we ons midden in een beschermd natuurpark bevinden, kan de omgeving soms heel rustig en stil aanvoelen, maar we willen altijd dat onze gasten zich welkom voelen! Wat betreft het rijbewijs: het achterlaten van een document (of een borgsom in contanten/creditcard als alternatief) is een standaard veiligheidsprocedure voor het fietsonderhoud, en we zijn blij dat alles bij terugkomst netjes is afgehandeld. Fijn dat de kortere route van 2 uur langs de oude stadsmuren en de prachtige uitzichten zo goed is bevallen. Hopelijk tot een volgende keer bij Bicycle Roma! 🚲🌿
Obtain good maps of the route, if it is not straightforward. Using Google Maps on a phone mounted to the bike may be insufficient.
